Travel Insurance

Here’s an interesting one.

I looked on-line for a single trip travel insurance for our forthcoming cruise and was quoted £500+ for basically three weeks ...... a declared medical condition bumped it up.

The website then said to try and get a quote for annual insurance, which I did and I was quoted £223?

The auto-emailed quote stated “price not guaranteed” ???

I am sure I read somewhere that a quote is a quote is a quote ... if the price is variable then it is an estimate?

However ......... I rang them up a couple of days later to go ahead and, with no change whatsoever to the details submitted, they bumped the price by £70+?

Am I missing something? They said the reason for the increase was down to the underwriters and prices change on a daily basis. They also said the risk factor is different with annual insurance?

My mind can also change on a daily basis and I went elsewhere .... on principal if nothing else!

Mike
