On RCL's website it is a private lesson, so where do you schedule a small group session?

Just go up and ask them when you sign your waiver it normally needs to have at least 4 people sign up before they will do it with a maximum of 8

Speaking of waivers...how come we can't sign them online?  is that something new for Anthem or Quantum class?  Or do we now do it for each individual activity?

I believe online waivers were eliminated (or reduced) as part of the recent website improvements.

This will be our first time on a cruise (Ovation June 2019) we purchased the Key for our family (Myself, hubbie and our 24 & 20 yr old children). I have a few questions, has anyone seen the menu for Jamie's Italian for the Key lunch yet? Also, any idea if they will be able to accommodate for example, instead of Caesar dressing, a different option or vegetarian options . I am traveling with 2 vegetarians and was curious how that would go with the embarkation lunch.  I called and asked Royal Caribbean with no straight answer.

Thanks 🙂

On the Anthem right now and have not seen much of Key people.  There were some saved seats the first night at We Will Rock You but have not seen them at Flow Rider or iFly.  I was wondering if or how they would impact the suites guests but so far you would not know they were around.

For us the Key program means that we are far less likely to book a suite. A huge benefit to a suite for us was the time saving aspect (lines and reservations) and if we can purchase that separately then the reasons for booking a suite are greatly reduced (especially on the majority of RCL ships as they do not have the sky/sea/royal classes with extended benefits for suites).

Ah that makes sense, I was looking for where to do them online prior to our recent cruise and thought I'd missed them!

They should be able to without issue, but no promises.  We never made it to our Chops lunch to know what options they may have offered us (though we weren't expecting anything so were planning on grabbing something elsewhere and had eaten a late breakfast before boarding).  But I would think Jamie's could easily made a change.  Special_needs@rccl.com is a good email for better answers on food options.

Please share your experiences with the Key program. I’ve just read a review of the Key program on Allure of the Seas and it sounded like a ripped off:  no priority embarkation or debarkation, no bags dropped off, seats only hold for 5 min., etc.

Thank you both. I bought the Key for 4 people @24.99 pp per day on Allure so I was a little nervous when I read that review. I feel better now. Thanks again 😊

Watch for sales in your cruise planner. You may be able to get it for $19.99  There is an excellent review of the Key on the Royal Caribbean Blog if you are interested.

My thought is that the poster didn't know what he was purchasing.  It seems he took no time to investigate anything, just thought he was going to be "top dog".

There is a lot of info on cruise critic about the Key as well as info for those purchasing it on the website.  I find it interesting that so many can find the way to review negatives, but can't find any place to get info before the cruise.

This is the 2nd review of the Allure I’ve seen with a lot of key exclusive hours between 5 and 6pm which is annoying as we have the early dining booked. I’ll be disappointed if that’s the case in 2 weeks when we are on the Allure.

I was interested in the key but as our whole party are vegetarian I contacted Royal Caribbean about the Chop’s grille lunch as nothing vegetarian was listed on the menu. Sadly I was told our dietary requirements could not be met and we should eat somewhere else!

I don't have any personal experience with this, but based on my previous cruise I would be shocked if Chops could not do something for you.  Unfortunately, the phone people don't always know what really happens.  I hope there is someone who has tried to eat at chops for the key will have some answers for you.  Good luck!

Thank you for this. I do hope we can get to enjoy the specialty dining experience as part of the key and would welcome any feedback if vegetarians have been able to be accommodated in there.

I think you should post a general question on the boards to ask about vegetarian accommodations at Chops for lunch and dinner. I think the pool Of Key Holders will be too small to get you an answer and if they can accommodate regular guests - they can accommodate you!

We just returned from an 11 day cruise on the Serenade with the Key. I loved it.  The first day was so nice with the drop off of our backpacks and lunch in Chops. When we got to our room the internet codes were there along with the times for the rock wall.  Serenade does not have any of the other attractions and we were not interested in the rock wall.  We also would not have done the flow rider etc.  We normally just get one internet and share so it was nice both being able to be on at the same time.  The reserved seating is in the center balcony, the view was good and I enjoyed not having to show up super early to get a good seat.  The last day was great.  We put our luggage out the last night, had a nice breakfast the next morning and an escort down to our luggage.  We went in front of the regular line to go through customs. A very relaxed last morning.  I will definitely get the Key again.

We purchased The Key for an upcoming trip on Liberty of the Seas. My husband is vegan and gluten free.  😳 I was told Chops could accommodate his needs.  We cruised in May on Anthem and my husband coordinated with the head waiter regarding his diet. It was wonderful. I think it is more difficult to accommodate on the first day, but I do think Chops is capable of helping you out. For my sake, I hope so!
