Do they give your priority for activities during regular hours? Or do you only have the very few key hours for activities.

If it is only 2 or 3 flow rider sessions in a 7 night trip it isn't worth it to me anymore.

Thanks for your answers with someone that is using the Key right now.

I was able to get a wristband early than anyone for the trapeze but when it came to roller skating I was not given priority. I was there early enough to get a wristband for my allotted time to return.   I never got a chance to do rock climbing as weather never permitted.  Either too cold or too windy.  We are on AOS.  Can’t wait to try debarkation Saturday morning and will report how that goes.

What does a wristband do?

Nope. Only got the wristbands as a temporary “proof” of Key while waiting to get the cabins and sea passes.

I’ll try to upload the key activities schedule here. Note, they didn’t even spend money on color (or decent quality black&white copies)

wow so inconsistent, this 7 day trip has 4 extra flowrider sessions and yet JC who is on a 16 day cruise has only, 5 RC need to standardize it, if all people brought it for was extra sessions they would be very disappointed

I agree - may cancel mine since there often are only a few.

Indicates you have Key.

You get a wristband for activities as to your scheduled time.  There is no indication you are a key guest. The only time you get a blue key band is when you drop off your luggage in the theater. You then take that off and use your sea pass.  We bought wow bands but that doesn’t indicate it either.  For those of you who like the private hour sessions, you would be unhappy on anthem.  We had one time for iFly, flowrider and Rock wall and northstar. I scheduled my own.

I am surprised star class does not include that

It depends on your Genie. Rarely have we needed help to get back on the ship but once we did.  We used the Loop app to contact the Genie and she came right down and pulled us through the mass of people and back onto the ship.  Obviously if you are at a tender port the Genie can do nothing to help you but if there is some unforeseen issue at a regular port, as we experienced, the Genie can be a life saver.

I just got a call from someone at Royal Caribbean regarding my email about The Key.  She apologized for the issues, and said that most likely the issues with reduced private hours and no priority debarkation were due to the amount of people who had purchased The Key on our sailing.  She said she understood that the idea of telling guests they can cut the line at activities is uncomfortable and she wouldn't want to do that either.  It sounds like they are working on figuring this stuff out but it is going to take a while.

If anyone is still looking to communicate with RCI regarding disappointment (or satisfaction) with The Key, I would recommend going beyond the post-cruise communications options and heading to operations managers etc.  Be polite, obviously, and let them know that you are telling them about your experience so they can work on making the experience better for future guests.

Great that they followed up, I do expect they'll have to tweak it along the way since what sounds like it will be great on paper won't translate exactly on board and especially on each ship!

Yeah...good luck with that... 😆

Now that we have more than 2,000 posts on this topic...the net result is about 1/2 the people like it or want it and 1/2 the people didn't like it or wouldn't get it. Just an observation...a coin flip gets the same result.

Same as food, what one loves, one hates. and the key has so many components. The one constant like is that everyone has enjoyed the disembarkation breakfast and escort off. and thats a low priority with me, as hubby is usually trying to get me off the ***** at 6am😁

It took us less than 15 minutes to walk out, grab our bags and get off the ship. I'm not paying for that.

This makes NO sense whatsoever. If you have more people buying the key, they wouldn't REDUCE the number of 'private hours'. It was more likely due to the large number of passengers.  For priority debarkation, why would another 50 people matter?

Sounds to me like she had no idea really, and was just making excuses.

Agree, they set a limit for the number of passes so they know the maximum possible. The number should be set according to their ability to provide what is offered.

Agreed!  If it was a small number they could have made them feel special and if it was a large number they could have expanded!  For any number of passengers it should be a way for them to also advertise the key program which they should have put together before launching!  I'm still hoping they just make it like Carnival's FTTF, I'd rather it just get me on and off smoothly and my room/bags be expedited, and I did like the included voom too.
