turn off "newest photos" feature?

I don't have that issue or concern. So I'll continue to simply ignore the photos like I do with a lot of threads and posts. Glad there are options being shared for those that want to eliminate the photo galleries.

I only block the photos on the side bar  still see the ones in posts  even post a few myself ..moderation is the key

but some people do get carried away with their photos in posts  so I put those people on my Ignore list ...no photos then

Agree. It's all about choices.

That right. If you post it here, CC can use it anywhere they want. I do post pictures but usually in response to questions and never anything that I care about. Even when I do post a picture, it is hosted on a third party site and cannot be downloaded from that site.
