Relax Day Tours

Recommended Posts

Wondering if anyone has any experience using  "Relax Day Tours" in Puerto Limon. Trying to find a tour company and the reviews are good. There seems to be more written about "Lucky Tours" but I would love a little help in making a decision.

Don't have any experience with those tour companies but we enjoyed our tour in Limon very much.

We were just in Puerto Limon November 22, had a very good tour with Ricky Ricardo tours that day.  He can customize for private tour which we did, or for larger groups at a very good price.  Much better price than cruise line and you aren't herded on a large bus with loads of people.  You arrive before large buses from cruise tours and Ricky takes you where the buses can't go so you get a better view of the sights.   Tours can be for larger families or you can book with a group.  He is quick to return emails and answer  all questions.  We had done tour with Ricky in Puntarenas on opposite coast a couple of years ago and enjoyed it very much so booked with his company in Limon on this cruise.

He has comfortable, air conditioned vans with cold drinks.  My husband has mobility issues, Ricky and his group worked with us for him to be able to enjoy the tour as much as possible.  We saw banana plantation, sloths, monkeys, cayman, iguanas on river cruise.  We stopped at Playa Bonita beach and had delicious lunch that was included.  Stopped at local fruit stand for sample and handmade crafts.  We had tour of Limon before heading back to port, Ricky always makes sure to get you back to ship with plenty of time to spare.

Stopped at shop close to port to see process of cacao being made in chocolate products with some tasty samples there.  A very good tour and highly recommend Ricky Ricardo Tours.  We were happy to see an old friend for our tour, very friendly team working with Ricky.

I I am interested also if anyone used Relax Day Tour. Just booked the 7 in 1 tour to Cahuita National Park and Tortuguero Canal Boat ride.

Cookingmom - Did you go to Costa Rica yet and who did you use? Trying to decide between Relax Day Tours or Your Lucky Tour.

No, we don't leave until March 20th. Check out the very favorable recent reviews on TripAdvisor for Relax Day Tours. They have helped make me "Relax" about my choice.

We just returned from our Panama Canal cruise. Of all our port experiences (Aruba, Curaçao, Cartagena, Panama), Puerto Limon was the most spectacular and that was attributable to our tour with Relax Day Tours and Federico. He met us at the port and we were delighted to discover that we were the only ones on this tour! We started out with a quick tour of the city (comfortable air conditioned van) and Federico's knowledge and insight into the country was valuable. From there we headed to the Tortuguero Canal and between Federico and Juan our boat captain, we saw sloths, monkeys, iguanas, lizards, birds, etc. We were blessed with beautiful weather so the breezes of the early morning made for a really pleasant experience. From there we went to a fruit stand and Federico educated us on the various fruit crops (especially pineapples and bananas). We developed a new appreciation for the fruit we enjoy here at home in the States! He then brought us to a banana plantation were we saw the growing plants.

Our next stop was the Cahuita National Park. There we took a delightful walk on a shaded trail that was right next to the beach. It was a nature lovers paradise! We saw large river turtles, sloths, white faced monkeys, iguanas, lizards, leaf cutting ants, raccoons- I felt like I was in a National Geographic movie! We also took a delightful refreshing swim at the beach. I can't say enough about this day and this wonderful man! He was so knowledgeable and accommodating and made our experience magical.
