sailingdutchy Posted November 14, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2018 We will be for a couple of days with the Prinsendam in Dublin next May . Could anybody tell me If Holland America offers a shuttle bus from the port to the downtown . Would there be a charge for this , what are the hours since we will be overnight and also what is the drop off point in Dublin . Thank you all for any help in this . OlsSalt Posted November 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2018 (edited) They offered a shuttle on our last trip there -dropped us off at the reclining Oscar Wilde sculpture in the downtown park area. Can't remember the times but it was maybe every 20 minutes to half hour. Maybe around $10? http://www.dublincity.ie/DublinArtInParks/English The distance could almost be walkable and the traffic was awful, so a lot of time was spent just sitting in traffic. If the Prinsendam docks in the same place as the Zuiderdam. Or was it the Rotterdam. Edited November 14, 2018 by OlsSalt
Sue from Canada Posted November 14, 2018 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2018 I was on the Rotterdam ship in Dublin last August. Yes, HAL provides a bus leaving the port every 30 minutes. You can buy a round trip ticket at the Front Desk for $15. It's too far to walk into the downtown area. We were let off opposite a large part and from there you could walk to many streets with pubs, shopping etc. Buses came back to the ship from the same spot every 30 minutes. Before getting on the bus make sure you confirm it's going to the HAL ship. Tip: HAL had a shore excursion of an evening including dinner, singing and dancing (irish whisky and irish coffee included). WOW. What a great night we had. KirkNC Posted November 14, 2018 #4 Share Posted November 14, 2018 The drop off point is one block south of Trinity College.

We were on the same cruise, really liked that excursion! ?What a fun night. Our guide on the bus was kind of strange though 😉 Edited November 14, 2018 by Cruising-along

Our guide was a 'singer' and sang lovely Irish songs to us all the way back to the ship.
