Hello,   We will be on a cruise and want to have a beach day in Grand Cayman. Is there a certain spot or hotel where we can rent chairs and umbrella for the day and have a taxi take us there and back. Thanks in advance for responses and or ideas for us. It's much appreciated.

Thanks,

Rob

Pretty much any access point to the beach will have lounger/umbrella vendors....You'll see a big stack of chairs....walk up and tell them what you want!  You can do the bus...much easier and cheaper than a cab!  $2.50 pp...they run quite regularly up and down 7 Mile Beach.  When you're done, walk to the road (which is really steps away) and the next bus will stop!  GC is very easy to DIY!   The Calico Jacks area (Public Beach, although the entire beach is "public") has food and nice restrooms, along with watersport rentals!

Actually, sorry to disagree, but there are lots of access points up and down seven Mile Beach which do not have loungers or umbrellas to rent.

The only ones that do it that I know of are Public Beach/Calico Jack's and Royal Palms.  None of the other major parts of the beach - Governor's, Cemetery, West Bay Dock or any of the access points by the condos provide such service.  Hotels will reserve the beach furniture for their guests, unless they offer a day pass (which depends on the season)

Thank you TravellingbritNY...your response was very helpful.  Docking today in GC so we will try CalicoJacks.

Old thread.  Calico Jacks is no longer there.  Only beach club left is Coral Beach - https://coralbeach.ky - or you can DIY at Public Beach, which is next to where CJ’s used to be.
