Taxi question Puerto Vallarta

We will be one of three large ships in port at PV the day after Christmas. We have been to PV a few times with our 42 cruises. The two of us want to go down to the Malecon specifically to the Tierra Huichol gallery.  They have a piece that we are particularly interested in.  With all the cruisers in town, will we have a difficult time getting taxi service back to the port?  The bus is out for us due to orthopedic problems.

Given that Mexicans tend to celebrate Noche Buena (Christmas Eve) more than Navidad (Christmas day) proper suggests that the tourist industry should be up and running on the 26th.  I just think you need to plan accordingly and set aside extra time.  You might have the store call a radio taxi for you as a formal pickup rather than just going out on the street.

We were in PV on Dec 26, 2017 (Ruby Princess).  The Malecon was completely normal, up and running.  We caught a cab with no problem at Liverpool and took it to the Malecon.  When we were finished visiting at the Cathedral, we grabbed a taxi with no problem for he drive back to the ship.  

 

Being the day after Christmas did not cause any problems, and having several ships in port did not cause any problems.

 

So, unless the artwork you want to consider is large enough to be difficult to fit into the cab, no worries!
