Symphony of the Seas - Live 11/24/18-12/1/18

Recommended Posts

Looking forward to sailing along with you. Thanks for bringing us with you.

Nice score with your prime room upgrades. My next cruise which is on Symphony also is my complementary prime cruise. When I first booked it, the upgrade was so low but I didn’t jump on it, couple weeks later I called back to see about it and the price was triple. Oh well, I good with an interior room, price was right. 😀

Your luck in the casino, and desire not to spend time there, sounds exactly like DH and me. We will go to a different deck rather than walk through the casino to get from one end of the ship to the other.

I've never tried throwing money at Guest Services!

I do have to admit, though, that a certain member of our roll call has dragged me in there to use our free spins! Yes, she did have to tell me exactly what to do......You don't think she will see this, do you?  😁

I did win a polo shirt on one of the free spins, the next time I see that shirt, I'll hang it up with the other clothes I already have hanging in the laundry room for this cruise.

When we upgraded we asked how much the same room would be on the Symphony on our March 2 sailing.  I believe the number was $17K.  That includes 1 other person.  We stuck with our interior for March :)

I will be on the Symphony in 59 days January 19.

On other cruise lines, when you check in they would give you a small paper deck plan of the ship

Does RC give them out?

I was able to book my entertainment.   This is the first time in 30 cruises (many other lines)  that I had to book seats for the entertainment. I have the 5 shows booked for the first 5 nights.

I am wondering what there is to do on the last two nights since you can only book each show once?

Looking forward to your reviews.

You have to love the casino freebees. In July we parlayed an inside cabin on the Harmony to a Grand suite for a total of $700.

The wife and I have both made prime for next year. Hoping they keep it the same.

See you onboard.

We received the email from the Suite Concierge on 11/18.  I have attached a copy.  The only think we asked for was a reservation at CK every night at 6:30.  I got an email back from them shortly after confirming that we are booked as requested.

That is awesome!  I do not think we will be able to upgrade for March.  They are almost sold out of 3 person cabins so the price is likely not going to go down any!

Anxious to read your review since we will be on the Symphony in 2020. Would appreciate information about the Coastal Kitchen (pics of menus, plus dinner recommendations). We will be in a junior suite and will have access to the CK only for dinner, but plan to dine there most evenings.

Dear OP - Where have I heard this story before?

Tickets for the trip won gambling - in steerage (lowest level)

Used your charm and wit to move up to 1st class dining and socializing' "…...….I can still smell the fresh paint. The china had never been used. The sheets had never been slept in. It was called a ship of dreams, and it was, it really was."

Lets hope there's a happy ending...………………….because we will be on board with you!

Today is the day!  Travelling on Thursday was a breeze as was picking up the can from Enterprise.

We survived Black Friday! If you are planning on shopping at Sawgrass Mills, I cannot recommend Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Sunrise - Sawgrass Mills enough!  It was amazing.  Literally right across the street with a free shuttle.  We got there at about yesterday and the crowds were not too bad.  By the time we left at 2:30ish, they were unbearable to my shopping adverse hubby.

We stopped at  Walmart in Doral on the way to our second hotel.  Hey Walmart, I know it is Black Friday, but clean your bathrooms...

Not it exactly sure why there is so much TP in the trash lol

We are planning on leaving the hotel at 9ish to return the car to the airport and grab the shuttle to the port. I am not sure if I have ever sailed out of POM before.  If I did it was on the Carnival Liberty in 2007 and I do not remember it at all.  I will report back once we get to the port.  Hopefully they have WIFI like Port Everglades!

So I think that is about it for now.  Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions about the ship and I will do my best to answer them once onboard!  I am planning on taking lots of pictures and will try to do videos as well.

5 more sleeps!!!!!

Have a great cruise, we're following along! We sail the eastern route on Symphony two weeks from today (12/8), although with a slightly different route (we're in St. Kitts on Day 4 instead of St. Maarten).

If you make it into the Schooner Bar, please let us know if Andreia (our favorite bartender) is there. We met her on Oasis and Harmony, and heard she may be moving to the Symphony.

Thanks, and enjoy!

Check in for the cruise was a breeze.  Right when you come inside the terminal, there is a big sign for Suite/Pinnacle guests to the right.  That takes you to an elevator that brings you up to the Suite/Pinnacle area.  When you get off the elevator there are two security scanners.  Everything must be able to fit in an airport style tray.  They did not check my set sail pass before I got scanned through.  Hubby had come up a few minutes earlier and he said the process was the same for him.  I had wine in my bag and had no issues.  As soon as I left the security screening I was greeted by an RCL employee to check me in.  Hubby had already checked in so they just had to scan my set sail pass to confirm I was here.  We did not print out our set sail passes, we both only used the one on the app on our phones.  Paul says they did ask him health questionnaire questions but he did not need to fill out any paperwork.  They did not ask me when I came through.

I was not handed one, but these are on tables throughout the suite  lounge.  Not sure  about the  main waiting area but I assume they are also readily available.

One thing about the suite lounge that I think is really stupid - the washrooms.  There is one male and one female washroom.  There are no stalls so they can only be occupied by one person at a time. I know the lounge will not be as busy, but you would think the bathrooms would be able to accommodate more than one person.

I'm happy there are bathrooms at all in the lounge.  On most ships, bathrooms are external to the lounges.
