For our July 21, 2019 Allure cruise, we received our bid e-mail on May 23 ,2019. Final payment was made April 17, 2019

It looks like 58 to 59 days out is when most should expect to see their Royal Up if they are going to get one.  That is less than a month after final payment and nearly 2 months prior to sailing.

You received an e mail and therefore were able to access it earlier.

You now do not need to receive the e mail however without the e mail you cannot access the Royal up bid program until 30 days prior to sailing.

I think the point is that you won't get to bid unless Royal offers.  If someone does not get their email (e.g. it went to Junk folder, dog ate it, etc) then they can go to the link to see if they qualify. As we have seen, that appears to be as early as 59 days out. As others have found out, you cannot bid unless you are invited so many have been getting a similar screen saying what you see here "please check your paperwork, can't log in now, etc".  The page shared here looks to be just another iteration of it that may be giving people false hope.  I am just trying to let others know what others on this forum have experienced.  Believe whatever you like.

A new procedure started last week.  You no longer require an e mail from Royal in order to bid.

Does the new procedure still allow your TA to prevent you from bidding (i.e. big box store)?

I think it started a while ago. I placed a bid using a link in the website on May 22 for a June 21 Navigator sailing.

Had you received an e mail?

I went back and checked and the first I saw it reported was on June 1 so 2 weeks ago although it could very well have been working before then.

This is sensible business sense by RCCL as more people can bid which will UP the price they receive for these upgrades.

I did not. I just happened to stumble upon it on the website. It was a banner at the bottom.

My bid, however, was accepted last week. We leave on 6/21. Ship has been showing sold out for weeks.

I don’t blame you. I have sort of the reverse situation.  I also accepted a casino comped room on the Symphony but through club Royale I would have to pay over 2k to upgrade from the comped JS to a grand suite.  So I’m saying no thank you to that and hoping to get a offer to bid for less through Royal Up. Thanks for your post, I was wondering if they would still give you an opportunity to bid via Royal Up if you were in a comped room, so I see that it is possible

Received a Royal Up offer last week for a July 26 cruise.  I declined to participate.  But ... I have a guarantee room.  I am thinking this Royal Up stuff will keep me from getting my room assignment until right before I cruise.  Thoughts?

We were comped a crown loft suite on Allure ($95 pp) invited to bid. We bid on ATS 2 bedroom and won $500 pp bid (that was between 4 people) deal of a lifetime and so was that cruise

Curious - does your SetSail pass show deck and muster station?

I could see it going either way. We booked a GTY on Symphony recently for Labor Day and even though the category showed sold out, we received an assignment soon after.

It should still be blocked, the individual big box agencies have to opt in, if they do not I do not believe they will allow the passenger to bid. I hope I am wrong but I do not think one thing has to do with the other.

Not sure why a TA would object. Pretty sure they get paid

They have to opt in to the marketing email section in order to participate and many who have opted out aren't eligible for the RoyalUP program.
