Looks like you got the $25 supplement appetizer (picture 2).  It looks yummy.  Looks like it could feed a few people!

Yes, that’s Martha, Jacqui, I think you’ll be meeting her soon.  

 

That Fruits de Mer appetizer is now $49 - but with the 50% discount (I hope) and divided for the two couples, not too bad.  It was a lot of food!

 

talking about the discount, we’re having problems there.  The computer doesn’t seem to understand.  I did get $25 off the internet, but no other discounts have posted.  I went to the Front Desk to discuss the situation, and hopefully they will get it sorted tonight.

Wow the Fruits de Mer has really gone up in price (HAL should fix their website menu 😉 )

 

Yikes that you are having issues with your discounts.  I hope that gets fixed fast.  Maybe you should grab Orlando while he's there and have a chat 😉 

 

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but my understanding has always been that the surcharge items don't get the Mariner discount - just the dinner itself but not the items that have the extra charge.

I'd be very happy to hear I am wrong and look forward to your updates when things get 'fixed'.

Agree. Due to my allergies cannot cruise on a ship with unenclosed indoor smoking. I guess I will never see the HAL new ships am confined to the four with non smoking casinos. What a shame they made this decision.

Thats what I thought, too.  Tony said he has received the discount.  We’ll find out soon!

 

(You just never know what will happen from one ship to another!!)

New ship ... same old system.  :classic_sad:  We are really tired of having to stand in line at Guest Services to beg for something that is rightfully ours and should be automatic.  On our last Koningsdam cruise, I had to go on four consecutive days with the email from Headquarters certifying that the discount was in fact applicable.  They still did not believe me and said they had to check.  We had prepaid for 3 Sel de Mer dinners and I cancelled the other two out of exasperation.  Funny thing is even the full refund  for those showed up on our on board account before the Mariner credit.

We received a 100% discount on our wine package.  I'll wait a day or two before following up on it.  We did get the discount on our internet package.

Fruits de Mer was always $49 at the restaurant on the Koningsdam.  It was only $25 at the pop up restaurants because you were already paying $49 to dine there.   

 

When I was planning a cruise on the Koningsdam with my sister and Dad, they were adamant they were getting the Fruits de Mer and we discussed the $49 cost regularly.   That was the cruise we had to cancel due to my broken hip.

A previous post said that stolen books from the Library would cost HAL $2,000,000 to replace.  Having a cruise staff member whose responsibility was overseeing the Library and re-instituting the check out of books such as once was done would not cost Two Million dollars.  To reach such a figure would take many years in the salary paid for such an employee.

Say... It looks like the tear-off schedule panel is back in the When & Where. I hope that it's fleet-wide. We used to tear that off and DW and I each highlighted things we wanted to do. I realize that there's an app now and I'm certainly not one to shy away from technology -- but the little piece of paper had almost no weight, was very compact, and never needed charging or a WiFi signal.

I agree. I have had this problem on a number of HAL ships for two or so years. One would think they could fix this system glitch relatively quickly

Take your iPad down to the front desk with the screen open to this Live From and tell them, "Hi. I'm Ann from British Columbia. I'm doing a live blog of this cruise. We're barely getting started and we have over 14,000 views, so I'm kind of a big deal. I was wondering if you could help me?" :classic_biggrin:

The whole menu at Sel de Mer is a la carte, so you either get a discount or you don't( for every item ordered).
