Crystal Symphony Cabin 7043

Recommended Posts

The bottom of a life boat, will cover about 10% of your window at the top. Know that this cabin is over the casino. If you're an early to bed person and sensitive to noise you might be happier in one closer to midships over the library.

I have found these to be reasonably accurate.http://www.crystalcruises.com/cruises/cruise-guidebook/our-ships/crystal-symphony/deck-plans

Look here for "rafinmd"   He has a thread or blog somewhere with pictures of obstructed cabins.

7043 should have little or no obstruction. The lifeboats begin further back. You will have the mechanisms that lower lifeboats but they do not obstruct much view. If you search CruiseCritic for obstructed views you should find Roy's site address and there are pictures of a lot of the cabins. Joyous

I took pictures standing right outside the window of each of the deck 7 cabins.  My picture for 7043 shows absolutely no obstruction but the cabins sit a couple of feet above the promenade deck and the view from the higher perch would include a little slice of the bottom of the life boat but shouldn't be at all bad;

If you do stay in the cabin I would be grateful if you would take a picture of your view and send it to me at:

Roy,

there are no lifeboats/tenders that far forward.  I feel certain the slight obstruction would be the liferaft ‘cannisters’ that are stowed against the railings in that area and the small ‘arm’ that launches them..  I’m pretty certain I had that stateroom once but I can’t find any photographs in my various cruise folders...

Hello,

We are considering a Dec 2019 cruise on Serenity and are wondering about these Deck 7 picture window cabins also.  Is there a privacy issue with the promenade deck being right outside the window?  I’m more inclined to just book a Deck 8 mid ship veranda cabin than have people walking by the window if the curtains are open.

Thanks,

Dave

Dave....While on board Serenity Roy took some photos to illustrate this which he posted either on his daily reports thread or on another thread.  I  suspect he can repost here.

During the daytime if you are walking the Promenade Deck you cannot see in.  At night if you are walking the Promenade Deck and put your face close to the window you could see in which is why like all the rooms there are shades which are pulled closed.  Even on Deck 8 if you have the shades open someone on Deck 7 could see you if you were standing close to the Verandah.

The rooms on Deck 7 are the same as Deck 8 other than location and not having a verandah.  Deck 7 is a good option for those who don't use a verandah with a lower per diem price than the other rooms and is conveniently located just steps from the outdoor promenade deck and near specialty restaurants, the library, the computer university and close to the other public areas on Decks 5 and 6.

Great memory Keith.  That was almost 6 years ago, although I probably did a bit on my last cruise.  I'm not going to try to find the cruise critic post but here's the corresponding blog entry:

Dave, if you're really concerned about privacy you should loo for one of those cabins behind the ventilation boxes, 7005-8, 7014-21, or 7070-79.
