Satellite messangers

Recommended Posts

I am thinking about buying a Garmin inreach Explorer+ for a couple European trips in my future.  On Amazon

Are there any laws or rules that would prohibit the use of a satellite device on an open air deck?  I would use it for GPS location tracking and sending and receiving text messages by satellite to my husband, stateside.  Thanks for any ideas.

Suggest researching thoroughly yourself, the requirements of the countries you plan to visit. However, other than Russia, I am not aware of any European countries that restrict use of Sat phones.

Countries that do not accept Sat phones, that I recall, are China, India, Cuba, Burma and some others.
