Security guarding a cabin

We are currently on the Sunshine on Deck 2. There have been security guards outside a nearby cabin 24/7. Have never seen this before. It has been going on for five days now.

Probably someone that did something they shouldn't have and is now confined to quarters and under guard.

There could be someone that has become sick in the cabin. They are trying to avoid it spreading throughout the ship.

They don’t place guards at the door for this.

well, maybe if it’s Ebola or something that serious.

This one time....seriously. On night one of a cruise a man (25-35yo) got VERY drunk. He began a verbal altercation with a group that became physical. He was confined in a similar fashion to his room. 

 

I also read recently that when a crime is suspected to have happened in a cabin they do something similar.

No. Probably best to not get involved. You could end up confined to your own cabin.

Yes, they do if they have been quarantined and have left the cabin.

This happened on my cruise this past summer.  I would never have know except the room was right near the laundry and I did some on our last sea day.  Rumor mill said it was a domestic violence issue.  It was the hot topic in the laundry room!

I would hope that if it was something that serious they'd remove the passenger at the first port. In any event this happened on one of our recent sailings and every now and then we'd see the lady out and about with her security escort. From the conversation she was having with herself it sounded like she might have forgotten to pack some meds.

If there is a crime involved they may be waiting to get back to the states so the person can be charged with the crime

My friend's husband was killed at home on the first night she was on a cruise with her friends. Carnival was incredibly wonderful to her. I don't recall if she had "security," but I know she stayed in her cabin the whole time after she found out. This happened Saturday night. Sunday was a sea day, so they didn't get to port until Monday for her to get a way back home.

We love to watch the Galveston Cruise cam each time a CCL ship arrives. After they dock we watch to see how many passengers are going to be given souvenir bracelets and a limo ride. On our last cruise (Nov 24 on Freedom), we had 5 take the ride for various offenses. What you think DHL does with the manifest information while your gone? The 3 things that will give you a ride the quickly are" outstanding warrants, delinquent child support, and an offense committed on board, as explained by my DHL neighbor.

I think you mean DHS.  DHL is a shipping company.

we were on Vista at the end of September and after the first port (Jamaica), there was security outside a cabin just down the hall for the rest of our 7 day cruise (5 days left) and then when we ported back in Galveston, they lead someone off the ship in handcuffs. There could have been a warrant for their arrest and when they left the ship and got back on, they had cause to arrest them.
