We cruised on Halloween several years ago and there were lots of folks dressed. I can't remember any of the costumes but wondered where all that stuff had been packed.

That was the cruise where a young lady at the next table in the dining room wore elaborate hats each evening at dinner. A tablemate asked her about them and she said she had a suitcase just for her hats.😲😁

This will be our 1st Halloween cruise.  Our Halloween thread is like Dracula looking in a mirror.  :classic_huh:

Our thread is like trying to wake the dead, or to be politically correct "The Living Impaired".  :classic_unsure:

Did you guys see the new Family Feud Game on the ship?

P.S. I'm trying to talk Donna in to dressing up as Elvira: Mistress of the Dark.

So far I'm getting resistance, a big negative.  (at least I have over a year to work on it).

On my last Halloween cruise, several ladies wore homemade jellyfish costumes.  They were large with long tentacles.  They danced around the room like they were swimming in the ocean.  There were a lot of people with costumes on.

Elvira would be a good choice in my opinion.

That’s too bad.  I always sign up for FTTF.   Well, I’ll just have to book another Carnival Cruise in 2021.

It seems that Port Canaveral is building a new dock for this ship, perhaps that is why. I hope they have it ready in time😲, just 17 months away.

Hello all, we’re booked on a spa room, we really like the thalasso pool ... we were just on the Vista last month and while the ship is nice we are really disappointed with the crew, from the afternoon games to guest services addressing some accommodations issues, the attitude in general was not what we’ve grown accustomed at Carnival, it’s like none of them wanted to be there.

WOW!!! Sorry to hear about your experience with the crew. We found on some cruises that there's always a few crew members with unpleasant attitudes. We don't let it both us too much, but will bring it to a supervisor or GS attention when warranted. We don't let it ruin or impact our cruise. Vista was a great ship, along with Matt the CD.

Yes, they raised the first wall this week, and it'll be ready for our departure.

What part of the port is the new dock going to be located?  Will it be where Carnival is currently located?  I’ve only been to Port Canaveral once.

Were did you hear about our new terminal ?

Hopefully the terminal will be completed for all of us.

It has been many years since I have been to Port Canaveral, I think it was the 60s when I lived there briefly. I am betting it has changed a little.😁

I saw the info about the new dock on social media with a picture of a concrete wall being hoisted into place with a huge crane.

Our cruise seems so far in the future but I am excited about it, we go to Alaska this summer so that  is my focus right now.

Next year is our 50th anniversary so we need to plan something extra special. I was thinking about the prior cruise from NYC to Port Canaveral but it goes to the same places we just visited or the ones for this cruise so I will try to find something else special to do.

Looks like you’ve cruised to a lot of places already.  Don’t see a South Pacific or Australia cruise in your history.  That would be a wonderful anniversary gift to each other.  Wherever you decide to go, I’m sure it will be a memorable trip.  Happy 50th.  Our 51st is coming up in June, but we’re not cruising until July.  Guess we’ll take a trip in the motorhome for our anniversary.  Need to head for high ground and get away from the heat and humidity down here.  Maybe Tennessee or northern Alabama or Georgia.

The mountains in and around No Ga, Al and eastern Tn are beautiful and you might get a little respite from the humidity.

It can get pretty warm here near Birmingham but nothing like SW La.

You are right about missing the So Pacific and Australia, I don't know if we will ever get there but thanks for the idea, we will consider that. 🤔

Happy Anniversary to you, too.

Let’s hope it’s hurricane proof.  I read that it will be built west of Jetty Park, but I don’t see an existing terminal #3 in that ares that will be demolished.  It’s probably up by the existing Carnival terminals.

I found a map showing the new terminal location.  It will be on Christopher Columbus Drive where the current parking lot and old casino cruise ship are located.  Jetty Park will not be affected.

You are correct on the location.

The completed CT-3 terminal and its related structures and roadway improvements will be the port’s largest single capital project in its 65 year history. The $150 million project will be finished in time for the arrival of Carnival’s yet-to-be-named 180,000-ton “XL Class” vessel in June 2020.

Two passenger boarding bridges for the new terminal are currently in the design/build process and terminal and parking garage construction is expected to start in January 2019 and finish in April 2020. This new terminal is being built on the site of the old Cruise Terminal 3 and will feature a futuristic design inspired by the nearby Kennedy Space Center.

The arrival of the new Carnival ship in 2020 will mark 30 years that Carnival Cruise Line has been sailing from Port Canaveral, the longest of any of the Port’s cruise partners
