Advice on Dining Package Please

We are on the Spirit from Barcelona on Jan 24 (10 nights).

We have Beverage Package included but I have been looking at the 5 night Speciality Dining Package.

If I book before sailing , NCL are charging £102 ( about $130) pp.

Does anyone have any idea how this compares to purchasing package on board?

Thanks in advance

You can purchase the dining packages on board, however, they may be a bit more expensive doing  it that way.

I'm not sure I'd pay outright for the packages though. (The North American site allows us to choose it as a Free at sea promotion and only pay the grats. associated with it)

Many find the food in the Main Dining Rooms to be quite good.  Maybe someone who's cruised on the Spirit will come along and give specific info for that ship.

Terms & Conditions:

Specialty Dining Packages (SDP) are available online for pre-sale or onboard during the first two days of the voyage. SDP is not available on 1 and 2-day sailings; On 3-day sailings SDP is for sale on day 1 only. No refunds available if not all meals are used. SDPs are personal and non-transferable. SDP does not include any beverages and additional main courses will incur charges. A 20% gratuity and specialty service charge will be added to the package price. No SDP kids pricing available. We encourage guests to visit ncl.com/myncl to make dining reservations in advance. Reservations are not required for SDP guests, however, once onboard, reservations will be subject to availability. SDP meals can be enjoyed at the Steakhouse, French, Italian, Churrascaria, Teppanyaki, Mexican, BBQ and Margaritaville at Sea restaurants. Dining options vary by ship. You may choose to use SDP meals in entertainment-based and certain a la carte priced restaurants for an upcharge. SDP guests will be charged the following upcharges versus the full cover charge/a la carte price: Bayamo - $10 USD, Cirque Dreams - $10 USD regular seats/$15 USD premium seats/$35 USD VIP seats (Breakaway), Ocean Blue - $10 (Except Seafood Extravaganza. When using the upcharge option, that meal will be deducted from the SDP. Am not sure you can buy the package on board. You can pay in each restaurant but it is slightly more expensive.

Incorrect. Packages can be purchased on board. And paying a la carte on the ship typically is much more expensive.

Unless you are being offered a specific discount (Sale Sale Sale) online, the price onboard will be the same. It will never be less.
