Dunedin-ATM right at Port.

Our first stop in New Zealand is Dunedin.  We would like to just take the shuttle into town.  Is there an ATM right at the Port?  We won't have any NZ $$ yet.   Or do they accept a credit card for payment on the shuttle? TIA

Do you dock in Dunedin, we have always been at Port Chalmers.

Yes, the Port is actually Port Chalmers.  We want to take the shuttle from the Port into Town

I don't recall seeing one at the Dock, but there was one in town, maybe a 15 minute walk.

Following too, I have nzl dollars but am concern as I may not have small exact change to take shuttle but Dunedin is my first nzl port of call. Is Dunedin walkable from port Chalmer?

The center of Dunedin city is about 15km from the Port. I don't recall if there are sidewalks along the road from the Port into the city, but I don't think there are any. Port Chalmers reminded me of an industrial port. It would take a good 20-30 minutes till walk into town.

 

On our first visit, we hired (rented) a car right there at the Port, and drove into town, then out to the Albatross Center. Very beautiful area.

Port Chalmers to the City of Dunedin is at least a 15 minute drive away.

On the clapped out busses they used when I was there it was near on 30 minutes.
