Sapphire Tier (Gem Casino): 3% convenience fee not automatically reimbursed

Recommended Posts

im sapphire so we get the 3% 'cabin charge for cash' fee waived.

but i saw the charges not waived on my acct on my room tv.

i asked the casino hostess and she said it's automatically removed on the last night of the cruise. (ie: night before disembarkation.)

well, today is disembarkation day, and i got my statement outside my door.

the 3% fee was still there!

had to waste time/effort waiting  waiting on line for  guest services.

then the csr calling a casino person.

the casino person said he'll look into it and get back to me via voicemail to my room.

well, 1hr later still no voicemail and i had to leave the ship!

now just in limbo.

aggravating!!!!!!!!!!!

Very frustrating that they didn't get this cleared before you had to leave the ship.  I suggest you call NCL Customer Service so that they can look into it for you.  There is an after cruise CS line I have called before at 1-866-625-1164 with a similar CAS onboard credit issue.  Let them know you had attempted to get this fixed onboard.

It is not removed from your bill. You should have received an OBC to offset the charge.

yes, it shows up as a CAS credit to your bill.  If that credit didn't show up on final bill you definitely need to contact them.

You would still see the service charge on your bill. It does not go away. And you should not be alarmed when you see it.

You would also see at the very bottom of your bill "Entertainment at Sea Tier Benefit" with a credit equal to the sum of all services charges on your cruise.

For example, if you pulled a $1000 twice, you would see a charge for $1000 with an accompanying charge for $30 twice on your bill. And at the bottom of your bill, you would see the "Entertainment at Sea Tier Benefit" credit for $60.

nope, not there.

just checked my credit card.

the ncl charge dated jan 20 (disembarkation day) is correct.

it reflects the removal of the 3% casino charges.

but it still sucks that it wasnt credited automatically.

it not only wastes my time/effort, but also the casino person's time/effort and his sleep. (6am call from guest services)

and i wasn't the only person. guest service person also had the bill from someone else who didnt get the 3% fee waived.

he was there before i showed up but apparently guest services dont call before 6am, which was the time i got there, so he left the bill for them to follow up on.
