Hurtigruten has been known more for adventure than luxury, but now you are moving into the luxury-adventure market.  Will the Roald Amundsen and Roald Amundsen offer comparable luxury to Scenic Eclipse and Ponant Le Commandant Charcot?

We absolutely believe MS Roald Amundsen and MS Fridtjof Nansen will be exceptional expedition vessels, specifically designed for what today’s adventure travelers are seeking. Not only are these vessels the first of their kind in regards to their advanced green technology, their comfort and design are top-notch. Both the cabins and public areas are made from Scandinavian materials including granite and oak; they each offer two hot tubs and an infinity pool; and they each have three restaurants, perfect for any occasion. Aune will serve Norwegian food in a relaxed setting, Lindstrøm is named after a legendary expedition chef and will have meals based on his recipes, and Fredheim will serve international cuisine. Plus, our Science Centers will be packed with state-of-the-art technology, including a fleet of underwater drones! The drones will all have a wide-angle camera that will stream live, and in color, images to all cabin TVs, as well those in the public spaces. These new ships will usher in a new era of expedition cruising in traditional Hurtigruten style; as we like to say, a Hurtigruten adventure is best experienced in a warm sweater, not a black tie, and these ships epitomize that mindset.
