JW Marriott Marquis.  It has come well recommended by a good cruise friend. We have never been before and we’re able to book it on points.  We have it booked for March as well, so hopefully it will be good.

 

As for Symphony that’s awesome. We board Symphony March 9th... I’m really looking forward to Playmakers and Hooked. I will admit, I’m jealous. 

It's a good choice, one of our fave hotels!

We are currently sitting in the Concereige Lounge on the 36th floor waiting for our room to be ready. We arrived at 4:40 pm and check in is at 4pm. It is now 6:55pm and our room is still not ready. They also have no idea to when it will be ready. With the Marathon going on there is not availability of rooms either. This is our first visit to this highly rated hotel and needless to say we have not been impressed. 

 

We had to cancel a dinner reservation for the Yardbird at 6:30 pm and we have had to cancel another reservation we made for a different location for 7pm. Totally unacceptable.  

 

I really don’t know what else to say, than you take your chances if you book here. After all it’s not we showed up at noon looking for an early check in.

The question was  predicated on people leaving the water taxi and walking towards town.

 

You are correct in that if the people walk off the water taxi and head for the ocean end of the pier, then my directions will be incorrect.

They dropped us at the far pier today and wouldn’t got to the main pier. We had to run the gauntlet but make it safe and sound. Once we said were we were going they let us be.

Loved the sign but the lady just didn’t move. So she’s in it. 

 

 

There was minor visuals of damage everywhere if you were looking, and then there are large obvious ones. This was right on the walking strip. 

 

 

 

 

I’d eat here. One could only hope that they have ribs.

I’ll never get tired of St. Maarten. I’m addicted to the little coconut smoothie stand at the port. I think you convinced us to have a Holland House day on our visit there in August. I just gotta figure out where Alex and Ani is in relation to the are. It should be somewhere on that main road of shops.
