FLL to Miami Transportation-Tours

Recommended Posts

Will be arriving day early (9 am) at FLL before POM cruise in Sept.  Staying over night at Miami Hampton Downtown.

Better to Uber or shuttle from FLL to Hampton?  Any suggestions for a good tour/excursion of Miami area?

Uber, I don't think there are any shuttles other than supershuttle type transport anyway.

There Hop On Hop Off bus takes you all over the city to Miami Beach, Little Havana, Wynwood, and around Downtown, some you can include tickets for a boat tour around Biscayne Bay too. There is plenty to do in Brickell/Downtown as well, and it is easy to just walk around the area and take the metromover.

Just Uber to the port the morning/afternoon of.

Exactly what I was thinking Flymia but wanted a second opinion.  Uber looks to be $15 - $20 more than the shuttles one way but quicker & more comfortable.

Hop on Hop off bus sounds good for the afternoon then explore area around the Hampton in the evening........we have a plan!

UberX, good for 2-3 passengers and normal bags, should be about $35-40 from FLL to your hotel.  Some of the shared shuttles SAS, QLS, MJS, GO Airport, will make the run for about $15 per person, but you'll take longer and likely need to drop passengers at the port first.  If you have 4-5 travelling or lots of bags (like my wife :classic_unsure:) you'll need UberXL for about $70-75 -- same approximate fare for a minivan taxi.

Yep, and the Hampton Inn is in a great spot. Lots of good choices for dinner, good atmosphere. If it is a Friday or Saturday night it will be busy, so think about where you might want to have dinner as you may want to get reservations.

Make sure to walk around Brickell City Centre, fairly new development that IMO is fairly unique and a nice place to stroll around.
