What an exciting day in Port Everglades this will be.  Along with it being a VERY busy day, the Nieuw Statendam has her christening ceremony today.

 

Nieuw Statendam won’t sail a way until Feb. 3rd but she is currently scheduled to be at pier 26.  The ceremony takes place at 2 pm EST and is being streamed live on the HAL blog for anyone who wishes to watch.  Here is the link

Oosterdam is set to sail from pier 21 on a 7 day Tropical Caribbean itinerary:

Tomorrow will be the last time we will see Royal Princess in Port Everglades for some time.  She leaves tomorrow for a repositioning cruise to the West Coast, sailing around the Horn to Los Angeles.

I recently returned from a Royal Princess cruise and found it interesting that they don't use the Love Boat theme very often.  At sailaway from Port Everglades and at St. Maarten when P & O's Azur was sailing (the two ships were having a "toot fest" ) were the only times I heard the theme.

A red banner?  A red tshirt?  Not sure what the square is (but I'm not the smartest tool in the shed, sometimes).

 

The pool at ES sounds so inviting.  Love that atmosphere.

A couple of times at sail away from Ft Lauderdale, she didn't even toot earlier this season.
