Happy Hour on Zuiderdam?

Recommended Posts

Keep an eye (or ear) out for "extra" happy hours.   I was getting something at the Lido bar at 1 PM one day and heard a bartender telling a guest it was a special Happy Hour and those prices were in effect.   This was a month ago.

I went to happy hour several times during my cruise a few weeks ago, and the drinks were just as strong as any other time I ordered them outside of happy hour.  A couple were even too strong.  HAL still makes money regardless of the happy hour pricing, so I'm not sure why you would think they water down their drinks.

I believe you meant to say that either:

  1. There wasn't enough ice -or-
  2. They should have used a larger glass and more mixer

"Too strong"???  :classic_biggrin:

There was one that tasted like cough medicine because the pour was a little heavy for the container size and mix  ☠️☠️☠️

Most were spot-on, but they were not "watered down" by any stretch

Thanks.... many do,        Do they serve canapes as well?

We were on Zuiderdam in late January/early February.  Happy Hour was daily at 4pm in the Sea View

and Ocean bars.  (second drink for $2)  We had no problems with the drinks at all.  😉

We will be boarding the Zuiderdam on Wednesday    Out of friendship and appreciation of y’all I will do a detailed investigation of the strength of happy hour mixed drinks.  I decided not to wear my lab coat but to go  incognito.

In the past never found any dilution  in happy hour drinks,  but apparently inquiring minds want to know.   In addition when ordering wine or champagne they have been generous pours.

Since HAL is not a local bar trying to meet their rent, they don’t have to resort to making penny pinching cutbacks.    Though would love to see the TV series Bar Rescue do an episode on a cruise ship.

I will have 11 chances to do my research and evaluation.   Glad I can help you out.    I apologize in advance for misspellings, grammatical errors and illogical babble.   That is if I can work my iPad.
