Staying OSJ day before/after cruise -- Foodies (lionfish, local, ice cream, etc.)

Looking for recommendations:

We are taking a cruise out of, and into San Juan in March 2019. I've booked a hotel for the night before/after our cruise in Old San Juan.

We are foodies interested in local and unusual delicacies (trying to eat some lion fish is on my bucket list after a tour guide on a snorkeling excursion in St. Thomas recommended it on our last cruise).

Any highly recommended places? (We can get excellent Asian food where we live, so we are more interested in local specialties . . . or exotic ice creams).

A few of our favorite places are La Bombonera (Mallorca's for breakfast) or the Choco Bar and the roof top restaurant on top of the Milano Hotel and of course there's always Barrachina's.
