JF - retired RRT #5 Posted February 9 Not to worry...I've seen jeans on Formal Night. One old-timer wore jeans with suspenders and a white t-shirt. It was a long cruise and there were 3 formal nights.
floridalover5623 #6 Posted February 9 Any jeans are OK, nice or otherwise as long as they don't have holes in them. 😉

You'll be absolutely fine with nice jeans that fix well and a shirt with a collar ... even on formal nights.

I have always worn jeans on non-formal nights and never had a problem. I usually board the ship at embarkation in jeans or shorts. In these parts of the US we all wear jeans all the time.

voljeep #14 Posted Monday at 05:29 PM my 'special' things for 'formal' night in the mdr are a long sleeve collared shirt, untucked, black linen pants, and black echo sandals ... smart casual = khaki linen pants and brown echo sandals
partybarbie #15 Posted Monday at 07:00 PM 4 minutes ago, DeRon said: No I’m not wearing a jacket with jeans. I’ve decided against jeans altogether. My husband might wear nice jeans to lunch, and maybe on the last night to dinner. He wears a suit and tie on formal nights. On smart casual nights, he wears slacks, or docker type pants, with a collared shirt. I almost always wear a dress to dinner, so he doesn't feel comfortable wearing jeans if I am dressed up. You will see a mix of people on the ship.

I actually believe there's no restriction on the jacket you tried to post even though it did appear to have a few tatters in it. Princess is only concerned with pants & hats, not jackets. 😉

I am in favor of comfort, but personally don't like the jeans with tears and holes. Anything goes.... Edited Tuesday at 03:14 PM by GloriaF

Doug R. #22 Posted Tuesday at 04:18 PM Personally I find jeans much too heavy on a Caribbean cruise, I prefer lightweight khakis or even nice shorts. I have no problem with jeans with holes that my mother would have thrown away. I just laugh that people have paid three to four times as much for them as I paid for intact Old Navy jeans.
