Need help-new to Celebrity Millinneum

Recommended Posts

We are loyal longtime  Princess cruisers but have been convinced that we should move over to Celebrity!  With that being said we have booked 2 cruises on Millennium and really need some help.  We know absolutely nothing about the ship and choosing a cabin so we picked 8032 and are hoping that it has a good balcony with views down to the sea and not having a huge overhang above.  I looked at cabin reviews and couldn't find any info so unfortunately had to just wing it.  Also, we like tables in traditional. dining with 6-8 tablemates...how do we insure that we are not just seated with another couple?   Is room service complimentary like on Princess?   Are there areas that are off limits to us lowly veranda passengers?   Is the buffet open 24 hours?  What are the free beverages and are they available all the time?  Finally, can you disembark with your own luggage in tow?  If there is anything else that a newbie Celebrity cruiser needs to know, we would be very appreciative of any info you could give us...we are looking forward to this new experience with Celebrity!

I can't help with the cabin but will help with your other questions.

I assume you selected traditional dining when you booked - you can request a table size.  You TA or Celebrity can note that on your booking.

Room service is complimentary except for the hours of 11pm - 6am.  During those hours there is a charge of $4.95.

The area that are limited access are:  Luminae,  deck 4 (dining room for Suite Guests), the Retreat, deck 12 & the Retreat Lounge, deck 4 (the sun deck and lounge for Suite Guests); Blu, deck 5 (dining room for Aqua Class guests.

The included beverages that come to mind are coffee, tea, milk and, fruit juices, lemonade, fruit punches from the dispensers in the buffet.

Café al Bacio on Deck 5 has specialty coffees & teas are charged for however, the pastries, cookies, cakes, etc. that are available there are free and delicious.

Yes self debarkation is available - you will be given details or where and when to meet for with the information on Debarkation general a day or 2 before the end of your cruse.

Hope this helps & have a great cruise.

Looks like a decent room -  Rather far forward but here is a picture pre-Revolution.   The overhang is above deck 9 so you should be ok.

You can call celebrity or your TA  and ask them to link your reservation you will need the other couple's reservation number-   Also request a large table fixed dinning.

A quick note regarding cabin size on the Millennium. The regular veranda is 208 sq ft (including balcony) whereas a concierge veranda cabin is 233 sq ft (including balcony) or 25 sq ft larger which equates to having a sofa in the sitting area rather than a chair. If the price isn't too much more and you would like a little more space, you may want to think about upgrading. There are other perks you can look up on the X website that go with the concierge cabin, but we recently upgraded our booking on the Millennium just to get the additional 25 sq ft. Note: on the S-class ships, the veranda, concierge and aqua cabins are all the same size whereas on the Millennium-class ships, they are different sizes.

Thanks so much for your information...just one more question—-is there any self-service laundry available?

Unfortunately not. They have a laundry service, but it's not cheap. If you search the Celebrity forum using the term "laundry", you'll get a bunch of information on the subject. We are now Elite which allows each of us 1 free bag of laundry up to 30 items per cruise leg which definitely is a useful perk along with some other cool perks. One of those cool perks includes 3 free drinks from 5-7 pm every night except on embarkation day.

No Celebrity ship currently on the Celebrity fleet has a self-service laundry, and I am not aware of any former Celebrity ship ever having a self-service laundry either.  On some sailings there will be a "stuff a bag laundry"  challenge for a flat price for a bag, but this offer isn't offered on all sailings.

You can check at the dining room when you board as to your table location and table mates.  They can usually make adjustments if needed.

Also new to Celebrity. (Coming over from Royal Caribbean.)

"The area that are limited access are:  Luminae,  deck 4 (dining room for Suite Guests), the Retreat, deck 12 & the Retreat Lounge, deck 4 (the sun deck and lounge for Suite Guests); Blu, deck 5 (dining room for Aqua Class guests."

Does this mean that all the outdoor space with the loungers are for suite guests only, or is the movie screen/outdoor lounger area available to all guests?

For info on cabins on decks on Millennium, take a look at https://*****/CruiseShips/Overview.aspx?ShipName=Celebrity+Millennium. At the bottom of the screen, you will see a heading "Most Popular Tips". Under that heading, click on "Best Cabins". It will give you a deck by deck review of the ship which you may find useful. Keep in mind, though, that Millennium is undergoing renovation, so some of the info may be a bit dated after the renovation is completed.

Not at all. They converted only the forward portion of deck 12 to the Suite Retreat.

All other outdoor spaces are available to everyone. There is seating at the Rooftop Terrace movie area on deck 12 aft, lounges all along the deck 11 mid-ship and about half of deck 11 aft, and lounges on deck 10 mid-ship around both the outdoor pool & the indoor pool in the Solarium and finally lounges & reclining chairs on portions of the promenade on deck 4.

Millennium's renovation has been completed and Cruise Deck Plans has the latest updated information:
