Question....

Does a Pinnacle suite include any additional perks beyond what perks are included with a Neptune suite?  Ship is Rotterdam if that matters.

THANKS!

Other than an escort (most times) onto the ship on embarkation day and a possible ship's tour (sometimes) there are no other additional perks.

You can do course by course dinner at your dining room table.

OMG! I would consider these perks of the Pinnacle Suite: It's an amazing cabin with 5 sinks, 2 bathrooms, a jacuzzi and speakers on the large balcony, a butler's pantry with toaster, hot water kettle, a microwave, a large refrigerator stocked with free water and soft drinks, plus the normal stuff, power drapes, two large flat screens and a sound system throughout, beautiful art pieces and so many light dimmers, it takes a week just to figure them out. We had to chuckle as we were constantly calling out Marco...Polo - just figure out where the other was. Not just a couple of square rooms, but a creative design with lots of windows. LOVED IT!

Glad you reminded me of the "kitchen!"  I didn't know there were included drinks and water in fridge.

Thanks for the info!

Only the first couple of bottles on the counter were free when we had a PS.  All the stuff in the fridge was just like the mini bar - at a charge - so, just make sure you check so you are not surprised 😉

We were in the PS on the Eurodam just this past December. We did get a bridge tour that was really cool. We were kept separate from the rest of the early embarkers and received a personal escort to our room before anyone else got on. All the soft drinks and water in the minifridge were free, in our experience. We paid for liquor and beer we drank from there. Spent more time in our room on that incredible balcony and happy to do so. There were nice little munchies and chocolate on the dining room table when we boarded. We'd do it again in a heartbeat! Enjoy

Yep, same ship, PS on the Dec 6 cruise. The only charge from the (very large) mini-bar was for alcohol, and because we are 4 star, that was 50% off. So a gin and tonic was about 3 bucks. And all the glassware was Waterford Crystal. Can't do much better than that! Cheers!

We were is PS on Rotterdam earlier this month. No charge for non-alcoholic beverages that were in the refrigerator. We drank lots of bottles water and a few sodas and there were no chargea for any of it.

The other thing I’d say about PS is that if you go through the Neptune lounge concierges - you will probably never hear the word “no”

your entire trip. We didn’t make any outrageous requests, but a quick call took care of anything we needed. Not an “official” perk, but handy.

We had the exact same experience. Amazing service!

Usually you pay for it - whether up front or if you are lucky enough to get an upsell 🙂

I have a story. We were ticked off at our adult children Christmas of 2017. We went on a cruise in Feb 2018 and decided to book a Christmas cruise because “that’ll teach ‘em”.  We booked a aft Neptune Suite for more money than we wanted to spend but we were spurred  on by our anger. Came home, booked our flight and done. Until I started looking at the HAL site and saw that the PS was available the week before ours for almost the same price as our NS. Due to a schedule change on the airlines part, I changed my flight for free and figured it was meant to be. We booked that baby. LOVED it , probably never will be able to afford it again but glad we did it once. And our kids were much nicer this last Christmas. Alls well

We inked a great deal (guarantee) on a NS during a slow week (second week in December). Did get our cabin assignment about 3 weeks prior to sailing. Then, just happened to be at our computer when an email came in offering an upsell to a Pinnacle Suite. The price for both the original cabin, plus the upsell equaled the cost of just a NS the following week, so we grabbed it! Amazing cabin! The ship was magically decorated for Christmas the third day of our cruise, and when we came back from dinner that night, so was our cabin!  Incredible! We are not type who expect to be pampered, but this was an extraordinary experience. As a result, we have booked two addional PS cruises for later this year. If you ever get that special email, don't hesitate - book it.

We had friends who took an upsell to a Pinnacle Suite on the Eurodam. What a magnificent suite!  I think the only additional perks they received that we didn’t in our Neptune Suite were the non alcoholic beverages and the behind the scenes tour.  BUT, they also received a level of service that was noticeably a cut above. Example, when we arrived with them for “as you wish” dinner on the first night, we were escorted to what they consider the best table for 4 in the dining room (centerline, aft by the large windows.). And, as we were leaving the desk, I overheard the Maiter 'd whispering into his lapel mic “Pinnacle Suite # ____ is in the House.”  Thy cold reserve that table every meal, lunch or dinner with a phone call. That is one example of the special attention.

Did they have the card stating how much things cost?  Did you get any items in the fridge that wasn't in a normal mini-bar?  I'd love to be able to get any extras at the 50-% discount.  Assuming the fridge also had the 4* discounts.  We didn't have as much selection in the mini-bar than we wanted.  But that means we still had to go to a bar and pay full price.

The only thing extra I recall was the specialty coffee (no charge) to use with coffee maker and the teas (same as in the Neptune Lounge).

The fridge definitely has the 4* discounts.

Now, all that being said, our last PS was a few years ago - a birthday splurge.  There are reports now that the non alcoholic beverages are free.

In any case, your 4* status is good for the huge fridge (and I do mean huge).

If you are booking one, do course by course dining with friends or just yourselves.  They enter through that kitchen (which they call the butler’s pantry back in the day when we did it).  They are discreet and will give you excellent service.

You have tons of crystal and tons of lovely plates available 🙂

  • 1 month later...

I had my fingers crossed that this day would come...😀

I got an upgrade offer from a NS to Pinnacle Suite last week and didn't respond as I thought it was still too rich for my blood.  So I was like so much for THAT...we will just enjoy the NS.  TODAY I got another offer and....I couldn't pass it up!  So YES we will be in our first PS!

BTW...this was the first upgrade offer I've EVER gotten from ANY cruise line!

Thanks to everyone for the above info!
