Just a heads up, Carnival is all ready expecting your sailing to run into some fog. They are expecting delays in your debarkation and the embarkation of the next passengers.

I just got this a few minutes ago.

WEATHER ALERT

CARNIVAL VISTA

MARCH 3, 2019

March 2, 2019

Dear Carnival Vista Guest,

As you are preparing for your cruise, we want to make you aware of a weather alert. Dense fog is forecasted for the Galveston area tomorrow and this may impact the arrival of the ship and your embarkation.

We are currently planning to operate our cruise as scheduled. However, we will continue to monitor the weather and, if anything changes, provide you with an update by 9:00 AM (CST) tomorrow.

In the meantime, please opt-in for text alerts by texting CCL1 to 278473 (CRUISE).

We are looking forward to welcoming you aboard for a FUN and memorable cruise vacation.

Sincerely,

Colleen Oliverio Signature

I forgot you were doing the Bar Hop, were also doing it for the first time this coming week and it looks fun!  I also just got the text and email about possible fog in Galveston tomorrow 😩.  Sad your review and time aboard is coming to an end but super happy to board the Vista for the first time tomorrow even if it gets delayed a bit due to fog.  We will finally be Platinum and are part of the Ultra group so that will help with boarding tomorrow.

I am in the same boat as you, no pun intended.  Ultra cruise, platinum (have been for a while), first time on the Vista.

Someone earlier had asked about morning announcements by MM. he just made one. But it’s 10am. Not bad.

Wow. Seriously, we had a touch of PTSD at the sound of the chimes. Our CD made 4 or 5 loud, screechy, rambling announcements daily. Early, late, and naptime.

You are an amazing storyteller. 10/10 would pay to read "Saint Greg's Travel Journals" - if you ever consider a side hustle.

I have never been interested in the bar hop, but you may have changed my mind!

Stick around I’ve got to finish that story...and I couldn’t have written a better ending than what actually happened.

And I’ve still got to catch y’all up on dinner at jijis.

And arrival/departure videos. You don’t want to miss the send off we got from the Dream cruisers!

Just got myself a white chocolate mocha at the coffee shop and went to the ocean plaza seeking debarkarkion tags. I don’t see the setup. Worse someone was laying on the ground getting medical attention. Walking back through now they’re gone..so I guess it’s all good.

Anxiously, awaiting the rest.  :classic_biggrin:  With fog issues, you may have more time onboard

The fourth stop was a place called Rasta. It’s known as the Bob Marley bar. Our drink there was called the iguana. They make and sell peanut butter tequila there. Boats’ wife offered me some of hers. “If you don’t mind drinking after me,” she said. I do. It was nice of her to offer though. They say it’s really good if you like peanut butter. You can order it. I got their card in case anyone wants it.

On my way I notice Matt is doing a Q&A in the main lounge so I’ll catch the end.

That last day q and a with Matt is hysterical.   We saw it in our cabin on tv and couldn't stop laughing.   He was saying some very funny stuff.

Next to rastas is a very small chapel. Our tour guide, Colleen, gave me a personal tour. She said it can be used for weddings and renewing wedding vows. She said something like that can be arranged on the barhop tour if that interests anyone.

On the ride back most tours have quiet time and the tour guide takes a break. In this case Colleen remained engaged and tried to keep it fun with interactive songs like YMCA. They dropped us off right in front of puerta maya.

I was seated near the back and at each stop I was the last to exit the bus. This was no different at the end. I was the last to exit. I stayed and talked to Colleen for a minute so I was totally separated from everyone else on the tour.

I asked her why they don’t have a tour that starts at puerta maya. I mean there had to be 20,000 cruisers in port that day. Surely they could get more than 23 people signed up for this tour. I got the answer I expected. Carnival won’t let them on the property. But it’s not like they were on the property of the downtown port either. It seems like they could make a meeting point across the street and bring the bus in at the time of departure to pick up just as they dropped off.

As I said I was totally separated from everyone in the tour. After the long ride back I needed to use the restroom. I go take care of that and when I walk out guess who is leaned up against the wall with his back to me? Boats. I assume waiting on the wife. I walk up behind him and say “do you know where I can get a massage around here?” He turns around and busts out in laughter.

Anyway... I really enjoyed the tour. If you haven’t done it you should. I’ve been to Cozumel 9 times and and this was my first time on the other side. I’m sure I’ll go on the tour again another time. It’s not too early. Like I said I left the ship at 9:30 and made it. I would really like to not have to take that cab downtown but $10 isn’t bad. If you wanted to get out a little earlier you could check out downtown before the tour.
