Now I gotta know, what do you drive? I also have a low front end and driving my car around NOLA causes me physical and emotional stress. Taking my wife’s Jeep in two weeks because she can’t stand that I drive 68mph on the interstate in a sports car...

That’s so weird that you can hear that child in the next room....I never hear anyone in the next room.  I wonder if it’s because of the connecting door?

I had one other time where I could hear a kid crying...in a room without the connecting door. but yes I think that made it worse. Any kind of elevated talking I could hear. I wouldn’t put the tv on at night because I was afraid they’d hear it.

If go on vista again, I won’t book that cabin. I’ve stayed in that room on Triumph, Freedom, Breeze and Dream and it wasn’t a connecting room.

The kid was loud though...you could hear that out in the hallway. I thought it was coming from across the hall at first...till I got in the room.

Thanks for the review. Your reviews are awesome. I can't wait to read the next one. I have 271 days till I cruise on the Vista again. Same ports as my last cruise and your cruise but in reverse with the 2 sea days at the end.

On my last cruise, I could hear a person in the next room snoring.  Loudly.  Every. Single.  Night.  No connecting door in my room.  I can only imagine what it must’ve been like for the person(s) who were in the same room as said snorer. It was bad.

I like 2 sea days at the end much better. Kind of a cool off period at the end. I don’t like the day after your last port day being the last day of the cruise.

Ok...just made it back off the same cruise. Here are my observations:

1. Do not book anything under the galley. You will never sleep! We actually moved to deck 9. My fault as I had upgrade fairy call and had to make an instant decision.

2. Why make a ship bigger and make the theatre smaller? A) So they can put more PAY restaurants on board.

3. Performers in the shows couldn’t sing for c**p. By far the worst I’ve ever heard.

4. Don’t book at the very front of the ship either. Far too windy on the balcony.

5. If you ask for a dining table just for 2, you will no doubt get it but the table next you your “by ourselves” table will be 2 inches away. That is honestly no joke.

6. The casino is also a lot smaller on this design of class.

7. Lines everywhere for everything!

8. Matt did a great job as cruise director and enjoyed listening to Polaris Trio with electronic violins.

9. No future cruise talk and so no ‘insider” talk about future plans.

10. Think I will not be cruising this class of ship again. Heard many people say the same thing.

Catching up on your review but only made it through page 20, note to self don't let Greg's review get behind.  Love all the drink pictures and information.  I like that Carnival now hands out a weekly entertainment schedule, makes it easier for us planners.  By the way I did  the tour of NASA houston 2 years ago.  Your pictures bring back great memories.  I also toured they day the offered lunch with an astronaut, totally worth the price if you ever get the chance to go again.

I don’t think we (me and the people in this thread that came with me) waited in many lines. Shore excursion  there was 3-5 people in front of me. All the times I was a guest services I had to wait for 1 person once. They had the comedy lines but they were stupid and unnecessary. Come back in 20 mins and get a seat with no line. There was never a line for ATD with the new system. Short pizza line. Short burger line.

I guess i’d have to ask what you waited in line for?

I didn’t notice the theater seating problem. That final lip synch battle has been standing room only on Dream and I didn’t see that here. I could only see half of the place but I could see up to 4 seats together on both levels.

if the comedy club were biggger and had a bar., I’d have no problem with Vista. Wouldn’t mind a few more seats at the alchemy.

most of the other stuff you posted is the same on every other ships. You never want to be under the galley.  They all have tables 2 inches apart. That’s why you gotta scope out the dining room for a table you want and request it. All ships get windy. It’s never windy in the inside room though.

Thank you for the review! I can't believe how fast the week went by; I can only imagine how much faster it went on board.

Looking forward to your Glory review in August. I've heard terrible things about the internet on the Glory though, so hopefully you'll be able to do a live review still!

The lines outside the theatre for the early show was ridiculous. Just did not see the point in a smaller theatre and then on some of the shows, they took seats away for parts of the show too. Lines for the deli and Mongolian wok were probably 30+ mins. Not for me!

That was the 1st time ever we have asked for a table for 2 and not had a separate table. Magic, Breeze and all others I have been on have separate tables where you are not sat next to another couple 2” away. Hardly a “table by ourselves” but we went with it.

In all, I just did not like the deck layout of the Vista and so will not be looking to book the Horizon either. From what I can tell, the Panorama is the same as well. Think I will stick with the Dream class or Spirit class for now. Just my opinion as was pretty disappointed with my 1st experience of Vista class.

Yeah I don’t know. The only time I saw lines to get in to shows It was because people got lined up before the doors opened for the show. I never waited in a line for a show and I saw almost all of the comedy shows, America rocks, lip sync finale, and part of amor cubano.

I ate at Mongolian wok the first two days. There was no line. The third day I had pasta. No line. The next three days were port days so I’m sure there was no line. Then then the last sea day I had  burger.

i thought the layout was fine. They have all of the kids stuff on deck 6 fwd which is great. Alchemy doesn’t get clogged up at night like it does in ocean plaza on Dream Class. Add in the red frog pub and the Havana bar and there’s always another bar to go to.

I thought I would not like vista...but my only real problem is the smaller comedy club.

The room TVs/cameras are awesome. The internet is awesome. The sports bar TVs are a huge upgrade over what’s on conquest class.

Wonder if cruising sole gave you a different perspective on lines for shows.  A family of 4 stresses on sitting next to each other...

Well that’s where I noted a couple posts up there I could see as many as 4 together available at the lip synch finale. I don’t think you bring the kids to the adult comedy.

I still don’t see it. I had that night where I was tired and got to the the main show 20mins early. I had a row of 4 to myself until just before the show started. Then I walked down the the comedy club 20 mins before that show and had a row of three of the comfy seats until a couple sat down. No line waiting. Where’s this line waiting?

I agree with a lot of your points, which is why I prefer Dream, Spirit and Conquest class ships over Vista class ships.

Relieved to hear this - we're on Vista in October. Thanks again!

I loved your review! I'm so sad it's over. Made me so nostalgic for my last Vista cruise Sept 2017. I loved Vista! I especially loved Alchemy (it was my first Carnival cruise and sadly discovered the magic that was Alchemy way late in the cruise). I was in a Havana inside cabin, and aside from being able to hear the live band every night until they stopped playing (midnight) I would highly recommend trying a Havana cabin! The pool was always empty, there were always deck chairs, and having Ocean Plaza right outside our door was perfect. The little breakfast they have there at the Taste Bar was very convenient and everything else for night entertainment was just steps away. And who goes to bed before midnight when they're on a cruise?!?

Hey Saint Greg, glad to read through this.

I could not find the Dream Send Off for the Vista video, but hope you saw me yelling and waving at you - because I was and hoped you might have seen me making a darn fool out of myself. ; )

I quoted you often to my family while we were on the Dream last week. "Saint Greg says this and Saint Greg says that."

Was a bit relieved my daughter did not walk up and tell you all about that.

Another awesome review from you. Thanks and loved meeting you (after you finally owned up to your identity).
