Movies in Cabins

I have read in reviews that there is a lot of buffering and freezing while trying to watch a movie.

  Can anyone tell me of their experiences with watching movies.

I never had any buffering or freezing for the on demand movies on the TV. However, if you are trying to stream video via WIFI that is another issue and yes it will buffer and freeze

The TV entertainment system has lots choices of things to watch but it constantly buffers and it freezes and you can't hear anything for 5-10 seconds and it happens ALL the time. Even with their own ship broadcasts the system constantly buffers. Try to listen to the shore excursions briefing on the TV and it is a real chore. Watch a movie, others have mentioned, and it buffers in the middle of it and it could never be restarted.

We had absolutely no problems watching movies on Viking Sun.  120 days we watched lots of movies.  Occasionally the satellite feed would get dropped while watching news channels.  I believe the movies are on the ships internal system.

ZERO buffering & freezing watching the Viking movies.

We've been on the Star for 3 cruises now (Homelands, Empires, and Eastern Seaboard) and never had a problem.

Just off the Viking Sea, (Caribbean and South America) and we were unable to watch any movies on the TV in the cabin due to constant buffering.  The movies under the stars on the pool deck in the evening were wonderful.

FWIW ... 4 VO cruises and never had an issue.  Cruises wee re Viking Homelands, British Isles, and two Mediterranean.

On our Viking British Isles cruise we became addicted to Downton Abbey. 🙂  Very good selection on Viking and no issues.
