Moorea & Bora Bora Tours

Recommended Posts

Are there any tours out side of the usual tours offered by Princess or other cruise lines if you are on them? We are looking for something to tour the islands at our leisure.

Thanks for any info.

Just returned from Windstar cruise in December. If you like to snorkel we did 3 different tours on 4 days in Bora Bora. Tohora Bora Bora was the best of all (fantastic guide, small boat, 6 passengers or less- sharks, manta rays, sting rays eagle rays and more $100pp ). Lagoon Service and Pure Snorkeling were also very good. Check reviews for all on Tripadvisor. In Moorea did a jetski/snorkel tour with Moorea Activities Center. Wonderful day and only $185 total for two people. Also rented a car with Avis in Moorea another day- great way to see everything. All of these including Avis will pick you up right where the tenders drop off. In Moorea the ships can dock at either Cooks Bay or Opunohu Bay so you need to let the tour provider know which one.

We just took Patrick's tour (Maohi Nui) 2 days ago in Bora Bora and it was FANTASTIC!!  We took the 3/4 Lagoon tour with lunch, from 9:30am-2:30pm.  Your guide takes you on an outrigger canoe to 3 different places to swim, snorkel and see small sharks and stingrays.  Then you get taken to a motu (small private island) to eat a lunch buffet of local foods...suckling pig and other things are cooked in the underground oven that they uncover in front of you.  The guides performed a fire dance at the end of lunch as well as singing and playing the ukulele.  Look at the color of that water!  Amazing!

We just got back.  We booked an all day 4x4/boat combo on Bora Bora with Vavua 4x4 adventures.  Was an amazing full day for $140/person

We also did Vavau Adventure in 2017. I also recommend Moorea Activities Center (seadoos, and ATV)

You will not regret it, we had a fantastic time last month with Patrick, when I look at the photos I can still hardly believe we were actually there.

In Moorea we also took a snorkel/picknick tour with http://www.albert-transport.net/, this was a different sort of day. We had one snorkel which was very crowded due to many boats full of HAL tours and then we went on to a tropical motu for a picknick. Here we had more touristy things, tying Pareos dances etc but it was all good fun and the punch flowed freely.

All in all both days were great and would recommend them both, to me Polynesia was more about water tours, we did take a few 4 x 4 tours but that turquoise water kept on calling to me.
