Sid's "Ay Tee El" (ATL)

Recommended Posts

It's been one of those kind of weeks so far... Still no luck finding an apartment. I'm not sure how long I'm going to be able to handle this new job. It's not terrible, but I'm not getting any younger, and I just don't see some of the co-workers warming up to having me around over the long haul. I'm having some beers and doing some packing, even though I have no idea where I'll end up. Current cruise countdown: 185 days...

I'm totally jealous! I'm usually off at 4, but my co-worker wants the afternoon off, so I'm closing. I've requested my pick up to bring a to go glass of wine (who cares about open container laws...)

Yesterday after work, I went and did a small side job at the company owners condo... Afterwards, we headed out for some dinner and adult beverages. Tonight would be a new place to me: True Food Kitchen, which is located at Lenox Square Mall... It's one of those places that serves "healthy" type dishes, and I hoped that I would be able to find something to satisfy my taste for real, and flavorful sustenance... We started off with some ginger margaritas, which were unique and strong.

Also, some hummus, which turned out to be about the best version I've ever had...

Next up, another round of ginger margaritas, and some charred cauliflower. Another great dish. I eat cauliflower all the time at home, but usually raw. This version was smokey and filled with flavor...

I wanted to try something different, drinkwise, so I went with their citrus margarita, with cucumber and mint... It was pretty good, but the ginger was stronger and more flavorful.

For the main course tonight, I couldn't decide between the grilled red fish and the grass fed beef burger, so I just ordered both.

The red fish was terrific, and served with kale taboulli... The burger was great as well, and served with, well sauteed kale... I guess that kale is pretty much on every item on the menu, and all the rage with the health minded types. The sauteed version was the best...

Tonight's plans are exciting, including laundry and packing... Tomorrow I'm going to try and do some research into places to move to. My time is growing ever shorter in my current situation.

I’ve tried to like kale, but I just can’t do it. Never had it anything but raw, maybe sautéed would be more palatable, however, I doubt it.....lol.

Same here.  My sister grows a few different varieties, and I've tried it raw, steamed, simmered with tomatoes, and sauteed, and have no desire to ever eat it again.

Yesterday, for the first time in months, I took the entire day off... I did look at some apartments online, but that was the total extent of my labor. This morning, I went and knocked out the weekly cleaning at my part time job, followed by washing my car, which has been sadly neglected as of late. Unfortunately, the pollen completely covered it immediately after I dried it off...

It wanted to get out for a motorcycle ride while the weather was so nice, so that's what I did afterwards...

I also wanted to eat somewhere that I hadn't been to in awhile, so I headed down Buford highway and whipped it into Food Terminal, an Asian fusion restaurant that I really should be visiting more often. They're menu is about 100 pages long, and features full color photos of each item.

The restaurant itself is absolutely massive, and was still pretty busy, even though it was around 3:00 in the afternoon when I arrived...

I wanted to try some things that I've never had here, which was pretty easy with their vast number of choices. I had the Thai chili pan mee, which contains flat noodles, ground pork, mushrooms, dried anchovies, spinach, and has a fried egg on top...

Since I was a few hours later than usual eating lunch, I was pretty hungry, so I also ordered some Szechuan won tons...

How spicy are those wontons?

Spicy and flavorful, but not really "hot"...
