Timing of Budapest Parliament Tour

Recommended Posts

We are looking forward to a Viking Romantic Danube cruise. We have booked the included tour of Budapest for the morning of our arrival. We would like to tour the Parliament building on our own in the afternoon. Which tour would be preferable, 1:30, 2:30, or 3:30 PM? We wanted to allow time for lunch after the morning tour and time to arrive at the Parliament Building.

Thank you.

What time is lunch? It should take less than 15 minutes from dock to Parliament - allow a little wiggle room after lunch.

Make sure that you book your Parliament tickets online - they sell out.

If you opt to take the tram, you want tram #2 which runs along the Danube.  Take tram #2 (direction Jaszai Mari ter) from your docking location (the closest tram stop to our dock was Vigado ter) to Parliament.  You want to get off the tram at Kossuth Lajos ter (south side of Parliament) - Parliament is right across the street.

If you are interested ... on the bank of the Danube, south side of Parliament, you will find the Shoes on the Danube memorial (a mere 5 minute walk from Parliament).

You can buy them online now- and I would do so, because there are limited tours in English. We purchased ours about 4 months out.

Thanks- they are available for our date! Now I just need to ascertain if we will have our afternoon in Budapest to do our own thing.
