Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if I can buy cigarettes in the duty free shop on board, and then take them back to my room with me? I'll be on Ovation of the Seas Thank you

I've seen advertisements in the sundry shop for 2 cartons for $75.. That may have changed since last year though

Thank you for your reply....I wonder if they hold them until the last day or if I can take them back to my room after purchase?

Ok thank you. Have you done this? On Ovation of the Seas?

It’s been that way on every ship I’ve been on but I suppose there could be an exception although I doubt it.  They have no reason to hold them.

Yes as soon as you purchase them...They are yours!  Take em back to your cabin or find the smoking area and smoke all of them.  All kidding aside, Barb is still a smoker and we always purchase cigarettes onboard due to the low price...Even cheaper than purchasing on military bases with no taxes.

Per customs, it used to be that you can bring back 2 cartons per person, but getting off the Harmony Feb 10th, we had early departure, went through customs with 10 cartons for our party of four and nothing was said so I don't know if that rule (law) has changed.

Rule/law probably hasn't change.  They just don't care as much.  Not worth the time/effort to collect a few bucks when there are thousands and thousands of passengers to be processed.
