Stop in San Francisco on CA coastal

Does anybody know where the Ruby will dock for the day on our CA coastal stop in San Francisco.  I think we'll be the only ship in port.  Thanks for any information.

There is a free shuttle bus that will take you to the Pier 39 area.  If I remember right, Fisherman's Wharf is a short walk from there.  Pier 27 is also close to the financial are and the end of the California St. cable car line.

It’s approx a 10-15 min walk to Pier 39 and a 15-30 min walk to Fisherman’s Wharf depending on how fast you walk.  (from Pier 27)

Pier 27 is nice and new, too.  It is a pleasure to dock there.  Not old and crumbling like Pire 35 used to be.  Enjoy Pier 27!

That doesn't sound right.  

From Pier 27, where you will most likely be docked, you pass right by Pier 39 on your way to Fisherman's Wharf.  I'd say it is more like the other way around distance wise.  

 

Either way, there are many things to do that are within walking distance of the ship.  Be sure to check out Groupon or similar sites for discounted tickets / restaurants / events.

The F line streetcar with vintage trolley cars runs down Embarcadero and is a fun way to ride to Fisherman's Wharf or other attractions along there. Fare is $2.75

tours of alcatraz  (boat dock) is even closer than pier 39/Fisherman's wharf--should make reservation if interested

.8 miles to Pier 39 and an additional .4 miles from Pier 39 to Fisherman's Wharf. a total of 1.2 miles.

I read that differently than you did.  Inserting the 'additional' now makes more sense.

You'll be right below Coit tower hill.....we enjoyed a wonderful morning view off our balcony of alcatraz and a shrouded Golden Gate bridge.......million dollar real estate for sure.  We walked the stairs up to Coit tower that morning.....a great workout and took the bus back down through town.  It's a wonderful overnight stop,  and our ship never closed the on/off process all night long.
