We did it in January and enjoyed it.  It was 3 courses, the main was a surf and turf (filet and shrimp), the dessert looked better than it tasted.  The show is fun.  We used one of our dining perks plus paid an upcharge.

Here's a link to the menu:  http://www.beyondships2.com/uploads/8/2/4/5/8245255/222_spiegel.pdf

On other ships there is "premium" and "regular" seating (or whatever they call them).  There appears to be only one price for Breakaway.  Is the seating different than Getaway/Escape?  If so, I need to show up early as I definitely don't want one of the booths in the back.

I was on the Breakaway in January, the "premium" seats are behind the stage.  There are rows of tables on the floor in front of the stage and the booths in the back. Of course seating is crowded to enable more people to get in. I thought the show was great. Definitely show up early or on time to get desired seating

When are you sailing? They are discontinuing the show after April 28th - which happens to be our sail date 😞

are they replacing it with something else?  When I booked my June cruise it was there as an option, but now it is gone, I was wondering what happened to it. UGH..

How do you get the best seats on Breakway? Go early as possible? (i.e. 1st come, 1st serve) or some other way?

My PCC confirmed that it is indeed discontinued with currently no replacement announced. I’m sure that something else will have taken it’s place by June, just a shame for the guests travelling in the hiatus period but, plenty to do on board elsewhere.

You have to make a reservation.....this only gets you in....not a reserved seat.  Doors usually open 30-45 minutes before showtime so it's 1st come 1 serve

Yup, got the reservation already. So get there 45 minutes early, crash the door when it opens, and run to where exactly? 🙂

We liked the show.....filled a bit of time on a sea day, but didn’t love it.  I think we were a bit disappointed because our expectations were high....we thought it would be more like a cirque experience in Vegas.   Not a big deal, still enjoyed it.

When we went,  the next in line was escorted to the best available seat by the host/hostess. So no need to stampede to get a seat.  But the earlier you get in line the better your seat will be.

The meal was terrible, maybe the chef had an off day on our sailing because I haven’t seen other reviews mention that they didn’t enjoy the dinner.

It's actually a fairly small space, so no seats are really terrible.  At any of the tables around the main stage should be fine.  In fact, if I had been right up against the stage, I might have felt TOO close.  The food is certainly not the main reason to go.  While okay, it's about comparable to the food in the MDR, except you don't get any choices.

We did this on a 12 night Transatlantic, so finding new stuff to do on the ship was pretty important for us.  We did every show we could!  But if you are on a 7-night cruise, this might not be a "must see."  The show is pretty entertaining, and cleverly staged...but it's also not a life-changing event!

I hope they offer a vegatarian option because I don't eat beef or shrimp.

Back from the Breakaway and went to the show. Here is the information I have to share:

1. Dress code is not enforced. Wear what you want. I wore pants and a polo but seen people in shorts and flip flops. Also seen people in suits and cocktail dresses. No dress code was enforced.

2. Show was awesome but food was just OK.

3. There are a total of 2 VIP tables behind the stage which costs $20 more per person. However, you can only book these on the ship. If you booked online beforehand like I did then you're not even given an option and you have to go ask about the VIP seating.

4. We arrived 30 minutes beforehand and did not get close seats. Apparently they started letting people in before that time too.

They definitely do.  People across from me on Breakaway a few months ago had some other type of salad (instead of prosciutto, tomato & mozzarella) and eggplant parmigiana.  Someone here may know if that is still the case.

Even for filet requested rare, they put a different colored napkin for any "special" orders.  Works very well.

I've always been OK with the meal itself but not so fond of the dessert trio.  One seemed to be red velvet cake but I found them rather dry.

Show was definitely entertaining and was different from the show I saw several years ago.  They said they rotate in different acts.  In the old days one ate while watching (with a few pauses so wait staff could clear) but now you eat first (while performers make "appearances") followed by the actual performance.

Just back from the Breakaway. First I went to dining reservations and they told me to go to the box office. The guy at the box office told me I could get a salad. I was like a salad, that's it? And he said yes. When we sat down I asked our waitress and she said I could get eggplant parmigiana (which I don't like). So I gave my steak and shrimp to my husband and we went to O'Sheenan's after for me to grab something. The show was worth it though.
