tedandandy Posted March 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2019 WE are hoping to visit Casapueblo when we are in Punta Del Este. Does anyone have any hints on how to get there?. Is there a bus or is it a taxi ride. Thanks jane
Lunenburg Posted March 4, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2019 If you can find a tour that also includes the Ralli, you would get more for your money. Casapueblo is 13Km from Punta del Este - there are no buses.
tedandandy Posted March 5, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted March 5, 2019 Thanks for that. The ship has a tour going to both Ralli and Casapueblo. WE are not great art gallery people, more interested in just the architecture, so maybe it will just have to be a taxi ride
Budget Queen Posted March 5, 2019 #4 Share Posted March 5, 2019 Rent a car. I simply walk and pick one up. A cab is not going to be cheap, Superior to have your own transportation and add a whole bunch more touring. plus make good use of your port time. Very simple "small town" driving. No traffic etc. I've rented cars multiple times in this port, including a few weeks ago.

What is the rental car agency you use in Punta Del Este,? approx. cost/day? are they pretty fast getting you on your way? Thanks

Thanks There are multiple vendors. Your other questions have no answer. Car rental prices aren’t fixed. YOU have do a search for your particular day and car type. Supply and demand. You will have about a 15++ minute walk back and forth to the rentals. No clue how fast/slow pick up/return will be in the future- for you.
iancal Posted October 12, 2020 #7 Share Posted October 12, 2020 Agree with other posters. Rent a car. We spent three days in Punta. Driving is easy, roads are fine. Lots of beaches to visit for an hour or so if you are so inclined. We rented in Montevideo so no idea about local rentals.
