The red double-decker Brisbane Explorer bus will no longer be spotted making its way through the streets of Brisbane as the service has made the tough decision to stop operation. The two buses launched in November 2014 and for more than two years traveled a 19-stop route through a Brisbane and Mount Coot-tha tour.Apr 21, 2017

Good Morning,

There are 2 options for free sightseeing in Brisbane.

The first is the free hop on hop off city hopper ferry.  The ferry stops at the following ferry terminals:

  • North Quay, Brisbane City
  • South Bank 3, South Brisbane
  • Maritime Museum, South Brisbane
  • Thornton Street, Kangaroo Point
  • Eagle Street Pier, Brisbane City
  • Holman Street, Kangaroo Point
  • Dockside, Kangaroo Point
  • Sydney Street, New Farm.

The second option is to take the City Loop or Spring Hill Loop bus

City Loop stops along the route include:

  • QUT
  • Botanic Gardens
  • Queen Street Mall
  • City Hall
  • Central Station
  • Riverside
  • Eagle Street Pier.

Spring Hill stops include:

  • Post Office Square
  • Old Windmill Observatory
  • St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital
  • Brisbane Private Hospital
  • Central Station.

To get to the City Hopper Ferry you can take a CityCat (ferry) from Hamilton.  To help plan your trip, here is the link for public transport in Brisbane.

Enjoy your visit to my home 🙂

Are you in Brisbane just for the day before or after a cruise?. Or will u be staying a bit longer. In Oct my mum and I spent 2 days in Brisbane before our cruise. We stayed at the Sebel Brisbane corner of albert and charlotte st. This was a great central location to shops and food.  From here we were easily able to walk to botanical gardens, very beautiful, Southbank city beach, interesting. The city is very walkable. So that might be an option if your staying
