What’s the best way to check for one of the other window suites opening up? Right now all of the suites on our cruise are sold out. Should I just keep checking the Princess site to see if the suites come available again? And would I need to go through our TA to switch, or can I do it myself?

If your booking is with a TA, only the TA can make the change.

You cannot make the change yourself, either on the Internet or by calling Princess.

Thank you for your post. I will be on the Grand on Mar 30th....my first time on this Princess ship, so I hope all the dry dock work makes her so much better than you have posted....Can it be possible as your post shows it is a fabulous ship now.

Counting down the days.

We were in a suite on the Grand last Sept for a 10 day Alaska sailing. Having also been in a suite on the CB in Europe right after her drydock in 2017, I was surprised by the ship escort in SF. She walked so fast though! She took us directly to a table in cc dining for a relaxing lunch and by the time we were done we went to our room. I needed to use the restroom and she escorted me there too!

Oh! I recall the beds on the CB being better as well. 🤔

Regarding WS 301 and the door to the forward elevator lobby.

I agree with what Candide said, this cabin is close to the smoking bar under the Princess theater, and there is a strong smell of smoke once you leave the companionway through which you access the WS's.

I also agree that the forward door has been propped open on other WS cruises we've taken.

BUT, on our recent cruise on Grand we never found this door propped open even one single time.  So, while I agree it's worth continuing to check for the possibility of an alternate cabin opening up, I wouldn't overly worry about smoke.

As to when to look - I also agree that cabins open up daily - so check frequently.
