shore excrsions

Hi!

Me, my wife and our three year old daughter are coming to progreso on 27th of june with carnival dream. We are thinking about shore excursions, especialy Uxmal and Chitzen Itza. We dont really want to do the private ones and the ones that ship is offering. they are to expensive. What about local agencies at the port? Are there some good offers? What about prices?

The group that provides the shuttle to/from the pier to town is AutoProgreso.  They have tours to both of the ruins that you mentioned.  You can book ahead of time through them, or for a few dollars more you can book through shoreexcursioneer.com (they have a guarantee that they will get you back to the ship or pay to get you to the next port).

Yes I have checked their page. But they are not cheaper than excursions with carnival because they charge also child tickets and carnival does not. I would rather book an excursion with carnival than with autoprogreso for the same price.
