Ocean Concierge

Recommended Posts

We will be on the Royal Princess on the May 4th sailing.  I am overall a bit tech challenged.  However, I have downloaded the ocean medallion apps and we are successfully  “Ocean Ready “ : ) But I am a bit confused about Ocean Concierge. I cannot find that as an app, but it is listed on my cruise Personalizer with all the other ocean medallion apps.  If I understand this correctly, this is what you would use to check your onboard account, menus, daily patter, etc.

I am assuming this is something I need to wait to add until I’m on the ship? And if so, how do I do that?

I think what you might be looking for is a combination of two apps, OceanNow and OceanCompass.

You are correct.  You cannot use Concierge until you are on the ship.  They do hold classes if you need help using the apps.

from my extremely limited understanding ... this takes the place of Princess@Sea on OM cruises ... you access it by signing in when you get on board ..

Just got off Royal today. Ocean concierge does, indeed, take the place of princess@sea app. When you connect to medallion net wifi you will be able to access ocean concierge. It worked really well for checking on-board account, ordering room service breakfast, messenger, etc. I didn’t see that it was much different to the previous app but we had the first medallion sailing on this ship so maybe more is coming!

Like Princess@Sea does it go to OceanConcierge when opening a web browser using the intranet?

No it goes to the medallion net initially and from there you can choose to log on to internet or choose ocean concierge. It was sometimes a little glitchy - I found that if I was on concierge it stayed on there but when I logged on and off the internet I had to reconnect to concierge each time, which was annoying. My daughter had unlimited internet and her concierge just stayed connected the entire time!

The unlimited internet really was fantastic!

Thanks...appreciate your insights because we board the ship in only four weeks. 😁

Here are a few tips for your sailing. The two apps you will use the most; should you choose to use any; will be the ocean now and ocean concierge/compass.  Ocean Now allows you to order food and drinks from the app or find a shipmate  and the other allows you to check daily patters, order room sercice, check your cruise folio and also has deck map.  Enjoy. If you have any questions come back and ask. Have a great time on your cruise. The digital touchscreens by the elevators have all the same info too.

Based on the Princess website there isn’t an OceanConcierge app but as ceilidh1 posted it’s accessed similar to the Princess@Sea intranet site.

The only apps shown on the MedallionClass website are:  OceanReady, OceanNow, OceanCompass, PlayOcean, OceanCasino and OceanView...there’s no OceanConcierge app but an onboard site.

”Use OceanConcierge™️ as your go-to source for everything from planning events and activities to browsing restaurant menus and reviewing the ship’s itinerary. You can even see your stateroom account”

With so many Oceans to navigate it sometimes gets confusing for me. ☺️

On Royal, none of the apps were working yet - they all said “coming soon”. I know they were busy working on it the whole time - there were lots of medallion folks testing stuff out. Our cruise wasn’t even meant to be medallion but they launched early so we’re working through the kinks.
