So just how many cabins do they keep hidden?

Recommended Posts

We booked a GTY on a sailing in about a month. I received the Upgrade bid offer. I'm still sitting guarantee but everything lower than mini-suite is showing as GTY. This is our first NCL so GTY and upgrade bidding is new to us.

Thanks!

Nobody would know that number if that’s what they do. They are going to try to sell as many cabins at full price as time allows for NCL. I doubt they purposely hold back cabins to give at discounts to bidders. I won an upgrade on a sold out category but we know there was a lot of shuffling once bid upgrades were awarded.

Based on my experience, a lot is hidden. It allows NCL the most flexibility to shuffle stateroom assignments and maximize revenues. I usually book sail away last minute and am always amazed at the locations I end up receiving - often near an elevator lobby on a high deck.

I am using hidden as in hidden from customer view, not in the manner of deceptively hiding cabins from customers.
