Vancouver Pre-Cruise Hotel

For our 2018 Alaskan getaway, we drove to Vancouver the day before and stayed at the Vancouver Airport Accent Inn.  They offered a “stay and park” deal that we thought was very affordable.  They are located near the airport and offer a shuttle, so if you are flying in, this would also be an option.

We stayed one night and left the car for two weeks.  The total cost for that was C$289 (and at that point the exchange rate was very much in favor of US visitors.) I can’t tell you what the room rate would be without the parking.  Our room was quite large and had all the amenities we like such as mini-refrigerator, in-room coffee, etc.  Had a nice flat screen TV as I recall (we rarely turn it on) and comfortable seating.  Not relevant for a cruise, but for other visits, we were glad to see it was pet-friendly.

Their restaurant was under construction so no included breakfast but Tim Horton’s wasn’t far away!!  It’s definitely not a downtown environment but we kind of loved the neighborhood vibe and were lucky enough to find killer-good Indian food nearby (and cheap!!)  There are lots and lots of Asian restaurants in the area, as well, plus all the retail you might need – drugstore, grocery, etc.  Again, without a car, not sure what food options might be available.

It's not fancy and we did take a cab to the pier to embark – about C$35-40.  Super easy and right to the door; Skytrain is also nearby but we didn’t feel like the schlepp with luggage.   For those flying in to Seattle, consider renting a car one-way to the Vancouver airport -- keep it until you are ready to head to the cruise terminal.  Turn in the car and take Skytrain to Canada Place.  Or perhaps you could turn in the car at Canada Place, depending upon the rental company.

All in all, we found it a good deal and would definitely stay there again.

Thanks for the feedback - in past years the Accent Inn cruise package included one shuttle ride to the pier, so you only had to worry about a cab on the way back; is this no longer the case? Or did you opt for the shuttle on Disembarkation and cab on Embarkation?

Hmmm.  If a shuttle was available, I don't recall it.  But we also might have just opted for the cab as we have embarked on trying to be a little less thrifty as we get older, where it buys us additional convenience or ease.

But this is great info for people this year who can ask about the shuttle!  Thanks for the add.
