What is there to do in Miami around the airport?

Recommended Posts

We will be arriving in Miami the day before we embark and we’ll be staying at a hotel around the airport. We will have a car. We have zero interest in going to the beach. What else is there to do?

We had no car but took a Lyft to Little Havana and had lunch at the Versailles Restaurant.

It's a touristy place but Bayside Market has bars, restaurants, a little shopping, speedboat rides, entertainment (music). It's downtown very near the port.

If I remember there us also a boat ride that takes you on a tour of fancy homes.

Uber would be about 15.00 and no worry about paying/finding parking .

Just an FYI...they changed their name to Miami Marlins several years ago.

Since this post isn't specific to NCL, and since lots of cruise lines sail out of Miami, you'll have more and better information if you visit the Ports of Call forum, and look for Florida departures board. Lots of Miami info to be found there.

I didn’t realize that was a subforum. Any idea how I could get a moderator to move my thread?

Also look at AAA and tripadvisor.  Miami South Beach has a lot of art deco buildings.

Depending on when you get in you might try the everglades national park.

You can take the metro rail from the airport and then transfer to the free metro mover which will take you to Bayside park. There's shopping in that area.

You may want to also check out the downtown Brickell area. There's shops and restaurants in that area. You can get to Brickell on the metro mover or take Uber.

Or they can drive, since they said they have a car.

I saw that, but from my experience from when I used to live in the area is that public transportation is easier for getting around in Miami instead of finding a place to park.
