We are heading out of Seattle on May 19.  We live just a couple of hours out of Seattle and were planning to drive in and arrive at the port around 11 AM - Noon.  Boarding time shows as 1 PM.

Today we received an email from Princess that discusses a "new" boarding time policy.  It has our deck scheduled for 1:45, and not to arrive early.  We were hoping to board early and get to know the ship a bit before the 4 PM departure out of Seattle.  But, if we can't, we can't.

Is this a new policy?  I have seen a number of posts regarding when folks arrive to board and they are all over the place.

Thanks in advance for any recent experiences.

Standard practice.....not manditory .......we usually arrive around 11am and are on by noon or so.......they try to stagger people to better manage crowds.

Yes, it’s a suggestion as mentioned above. Our last cruise (on the Grand 3 weeks ago), we arrived at the port at 1100. We boarded by 1120, had lunch in the DR (you don’t have to use Buffet if you’re ready for lunch by 1300). They announced cabins were ready at 1300. Was nice to be on board before the crowds.

If you left Ridgefield at about 8:45am that would put you into the Armory parking lot at around 10:45am, which would be about perfect. Catch the shuttle over to Pier 91 and drop off your bags and start your journey.

I like to get to the Armory parking lot at around 10:45 or so and get to Pier 91 at around 11:15 or so and be on the ship by Noon and have a nice peaceful lunch in the MDR.
