MrFunInTheSun Posted May 2, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2019 Hello Cruise Friends… It's time for everyone to sail along on the powerfully and mysteriously attractive and fascinating Allure of the Seas... It's been 6 years since I've sailed on Lady Allure...Where my love for Oasis Class ships began... About 72 days ago I departed the fourth and newest Oasis class, Symphony of the Seas, so its fitting that my next cruise be back on where it all began...I'm very fortunate that for this 2019 cruise season I'll be sailing on all four of these big beautiful ladies. Below is my very first sailing "Live" from the Allure of the Seas... "Live" from Allure of the Seas. November 17-24, 2013 Allure photos in these first few post are from sailing on her during Round One. Some of my other most recent "Live" trip reports with Oasis class ships... "Live" From Symphony of the Seas. February 9-16, 2019 - Trainman-2 Tribute "Live" from Oasis of the Seas, November 4-11, 2018. "Live" from Harmony of the Seas, September 8-15, 2018 "Live" from the Oasis of the Seas, November 12-19, 2017 part One Our itinerary during the next 7 days and 7 nights: This cruise I've got an interior room thanks to Casino Royale. About 59 days prior to this cruise I got the RoyalUp email. With that I decided to make another bid for a neighborhood balcony. On my Symphony cruise I had made a bid and was awarded a Boardwalk Balcony. This cruise as of now my luck didn't play out as well, I bid the lowest bid possible of $150 for a total of $300. As of now its onward with an interior room. If you like food, you're in luck! This cruise we opted for the "Unlimited Dining Package". If you remember on my last cruise on Symphony of the Seas we opted out of the Ultimate Dining Package. We decided to give the BOGO a whirl and venture into the main dining room and windjammer. Sorry if that is what you're looking for, my visits to those venues will be limited to non-existent this trip. On my Symphony cruise it was interesting going back into the main dining room again as I hadn't frequented the dining room since my Rhapsody of the seas cruise February 2018. If you like sarcasm with a touch of dry dull humor you might be in luck as I might be able to deliver that. Throw back..... Internet cost bought on day one of the cruise back on November 17, 2013... Wow so expensive, this cruise I've paid $83.93 at $11.99 per day for the Surf and Stream for the week. Welcome aboard! Sit back, relax and get ready to go cruising! Till a later time, soon to be "Live" from "Allure of the Seas!"
MrFunInTheSun Posted May 2, 2019 Author #2 Share Posted May 2, 2019 Off Ship activities... Ports of call are not a planning factor for me when booking a cruise, the ship is the destination. What ports it goes to are an extra benefit but never a deciding factor. With that said, below is what we have planned at the moment. Philipsburg, St. Maarten Maho Airplane Experience Experience the thrill of watching, hearing and feeling a commercial airplane as it lands merely feet above you while lounging along the beach… San Juan, Puerto Rico Chocobar Corte https://www.chocobarcortes.com/ Chocolate Cortés is a 4th generation, family-owned, Caribbean, bean-to-bar chocolate manufacturing company. Originally established in the Dominican Republic in 1929 by Don Pedro Cortés Forteza, his pioneer spirit promptly moved him to export, and subsequently begin production of Cortés products from his native Puerto Rico; thus paving the way to fulfill his vision of developing Caribbean grown cacao to its fullest potential. Known for its rich and delicious hot chocolate, Chocolate Cortés quickly became a favorite of Puerto Rican and Dominican households to this very day. Labadee, Haiti Dragon’s Fire Flight Line Take a thrilling leap into sky-high adventure as you race head-first on a tandem zip line course that shoots you along 2,800 feet of cables dangling over the ocean of Labadee. You’ll meet expert trainers who will deliver a safety briefing before gearing you up with a helmet and cable harness. Then feel the adrenaline rush of flying head-first, like a soaring superhero, through a tunnel along a zip line that opens up over craggy cliffs plunging to the bright-blue ocean below. This unforgettable flight whizzes you over Labadee’s powdery sands, crystalline seas, and coral reefs — all before touching down safely on an elevated landing deck. Well, not so fast. This originally was the plan to ZOOM, ZOOM head first to the beach below. However at the last minute I decided skip this, this trip and maybe go in December whilst we are back here again when sailing on Oasis of the seas. Sooooo for now, I'm going to be boring and just pop off the ship and go explore. So this wonderful excursion shall resume on the next cruise here in December. Allure What does Allure mean.... well if you can tell by the title of this "Live" and in my "Live" opening Allure means: The quality of being powerfully and mysteriously attractive or fascinating. ‘people for whom gold holds no allure’. Powerfully attract or charm; tempt. ‘will sponsors really be allured by such opportunities?’ I'd say Allure's meaning is quite fitting for her, she's such a powerful, mysteriously attractive and charming lady. Now we wait Now the short wait begins, just a couple more days left of work and I suppose its time to start packing. On Saturday I'll make my way toward Daytona Beach then make our way to Ft Lauderdale on Sunday. Our departure on Sunday will be late as our sail away is at 8pm. Sunday, May 5 there are a lot of ship logistics with Royal Caribbean taking place: Oasis of the Seas will depart Port Canaveral on Sunday April 21st for 14 days to Barcelona, ending her weekly cruises from Port Canaveral. Scratch that, she left earlier as we all know what transpired with that sadly. Poor Lady Oasis. Harmony of the Seas will take her last voyage from Port Everglades on Sunday April 28th, dropping off her passengers on Sunday, May 5. After departing all of her passengers she will leave Port Everglades and make her way up to Port Canaveral without passengers. Her first sailing out of Port Canaveral will be Monday, May 6 for a three night cruise. Allure of the Seas will take her last voyage from Miami on Sunday April 28th, dropping off her passengers on Sunday, May 5th in Miami. After all her passengers disembark she will leave the Port of Miami and sail without passengers up to Port Everglades where she will be picking us up and begin her weekly sailings. Last time we all sailed on Lady Allure, Andy joined us. Will he make an appearance again? Or should I bring my office stapler with me on this trip like the lucky stapler below? Maybe a red one? 5
MrFunInTheSun Posted May 2, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted May 2, 2019 If you ever have an issue when at Home Depot and need help in the restrooms, have no fear they always have someone close by willing to give a helping hand... If you are ever looking for me or need someone by your side, I'll always be there... Sometimes its always good to go on the side of caution... Powerfully and Mysteriously Attractive... Last time I sailed on Allure of the Seas this happened... Guess I turned Platinum back then too... 3
MrFunInTheSun Posted May 2, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted May 2, 2019 One final thought before its time to go back to work and contemplate packing. You could be the one that has to respond to this customer complaint on a ship... One more look at that beautiful rear end... It's now only a matter of time we will be spinning for joy... Soon we will all be back out to sea...
MrFunInTheSun Posted May 2, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted May 2, 2019 Flash back 2013 during that Allure of the seas "Live" one of my "Live" followers commented that it would be good for me to sail back on Allure again on July 27, 2014 when they were sailing on her. Well I'm a little late but I'm sailing back on Allure and imagine that Lioness will also be on this sailing. Better late than never... During this cruise we will be on the lookout for folks with big cameras Hang in there... Cruise day is almost here... One Wednesday we received the following messaged about the propulsion issues and relation to our arrival time as we must wait for Harmony of the Seas to leave Port Everglades and wait for Allure to arrive from Miami. No big deal we are on vacation, on a wonderful ship. We also received this message in regards to the "Unlimited Dining Package", official change from the "Ultimate Dining Package."

vettecruiser1 Posted May 2, 2019 #13 Share Posted May 2, 2019 Just returned from this trip. We went to the Choco Bar for breakfast. It is great, I highly recommend the avocado toast. Its French toast with fruit, avocado and egg on top with some sweet sauce for dipping, oh so wonderful. I also tried the bourbon drink that has the chocolate rim on the glass. It is very good and the dark chocolate on the rim brings out all the flavors

MrFunInTheSun Posted May 3, 2019 Author #22 Share Posted May 3, 2019 Cruise day is almost here! Looking at the cruise planner at the start of each day is great motivation and yoga for the mind. 😀 Thankful for the two of these cruises too, to get me by after the post cruise depression. I’ve still not packed but things I will be packing are collected in the cruise bedroom at least. Won’t take much to throw everything Into the suitcase. Today is going to be one long workday.
