Price Drop!

Recommended Posts

We booked our October cruise last month. Just had a 2nd price drop since booking! DH called Carnival today after work to make the adjustment. It's a 3 day cruise and we've saved $40 so far on the original booking rate. Plus, we saved $70 when be bought Carnival Gift cards on the AARP site.  I'm going to keep watching for more savings!😊

We booked our 10 night Honolulu to Vancouver (4/10/20) cruise in February and every time I checked the prices were higher.  My SIL has a different cabin type and her price dropped last month which took $438 off her cabin.  I just looked today and prices had dropped for ours - I called Carnival tonight and got our price reduced by $600!  In all our past cruises, I don't recall prices ever dropping that much.  😍

It's so exciting to get a price reduction! I look everyday, sometimes twice.😉 A few years ago we did a Australian cruise on RCCL. Booked it 18 months in advance and got a total of $1000 in reductions before final payment. More $ to spend on excursions!

I think we have only had one price drop. We must just book at the right time. We usually book months ahead and have booked different room types. We check the rates regularly but never seem to find a lower fare.

No price drop for me yet. October cruise I booked has gone up $80 since I booked it a few weeks back. Hopefully it drops as it gets closer so I can cash in.

Update: Now the cruise price is $60 more than what I paid. Hopefully this means there will be a further price drop to get it below what I paid.

Same here, I haven't had a price drop in a few years now.

Wait a second... I thought you could only take advantage of price drops that happen within 48 hours of booking?  Is that not the case?

It depends on how you booked. You can get a price drop if you book early saver up to 2 business days prior to your cruise. They have penalties though if you book early saver and need to cancel so be careful.

Just got another $10 price drop. That's a total of $80 in price reductions since booking on April 10th. We booked under the Casino Rated. If we cancel we will lose our deposit. But, at this point, there's nothing that is going to keep me off the ship!😁

Question for those of you checking prices &

never seeing price drops:

are you logged into your VIPF # when doing

the mock booking?  Another option is trying

a VIPF # NOT associated with a current booking to test for price drops.

I’m new to this but found checking without logging in with ANY VIPF# results in little price change.  And logging in with DIFFERENT VIPF

#’s AFTER a price protection request results in different mock booking prices.

I've had my price drop $250 since booking on April 28 for our sailing on August 27 (I saved another 10% using gift cards from AARP). My final payment is due on Thursday, hopefully it drops again before that (I'm not sure if I booked with the Early Saver Rate or not).

Ours is just a 3 day out of Miami and  not a very expensive anyway. So saving anything makes me very happy. It looks to me like a there are quite a few cabins empty right now. Keep the price reductions coming!

Well, just got another Price Drop in before final payment which is Aug.12th. We have saved a total of $110 in reductions since we booked!  It pays to keep checking. Only 80 more days!

Thanks for posting. When I saw your post I checked my cruises and was able to get another $90 OBC on my December cruise.

Every time I check for price drop, I have not found a better rate.  have called my PVP and he has checked and he did find a better rate. When you are checking rates, are you signed in to Carnival website or do you just look at rates without being logged in?
