We are cruising out of New Orleans early next year.  While we have cruised from there several times, we have always stayed outside of the city and driven in the morning of the cruise.  Because the cruise starts on Monday, we were considering driving in late Sunday evening and avoiding the Monday morning traffic getting downtown.  Has anyone stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Convention Center or Hampton Inn Convention Center?  If so, would you recommend it?  We will park at the port, so a shuttle or park and cruise is not a concern.  Thanks

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Convention Center post-cruise during last year's Mardi Gras. FWIW - we'd stay there again. Staff was a standout.
