Horizon Fun Times and Must Do's

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any recent fun times for the 6 day itinerary?  Also, what are the must do's?  Deck parties, shows, games, food and liquor tastings ect?  Leaving on Sunday and don't want to miss anything good!

Try the breakfast bar at the Ocean Plaza, no crowd and you self serve as much bacon as you want unlike the 2 -3 pieces they put on your plate at the Lido buffet. Also, the Alchemy bar if you haven't already experienced it.

I have never been on a ship with the Alchemy bar, can't wait to experience it.

I consider the Alchemy Bar a must do, but the majority of Carnival ships have that bar.  A lot depends on what interests you, but the Sky Ride and IMAX Theater are unique to Vista class ships. Having said that, when we were on Horizon two months ago we didn’t do either one of those. Horizon is a nice ship, but it has things I am not crazy about like the smaller lounges and lack of a vaulted atrium with glass elevators

When I think of Carnival ships, the two things that immediately come to mind are the “whale tail” and the atriums with the glass elevators. The glass elevators seem to be a thing of the past on new ships currently cruising and being built. Hopefully the whale tail is not the next thing to go.

If you have Mike Pack as your Cruise Director, I am SO JEALOUS! He made our cruise when we sailed on the Horizon last year. Just follow where he'll be, and you'll be in for a treat. He was AWESOME!!!!!

Highly recommend the Love & Marriage show along with Hasbro. They are both hosted by Mike and are super fun to watch!

Curious - does Carnival still limit the use of table cloths to the  “ dress up” nights?

That was our experience on Horizon earlier this month.

It takes a few days for people to branch out especially at lunch.

Hit the BBQ, Mongolian Wok and Captains Pasta Bar the 1st few days berfore they’re “discovered”.

The Ocean Plaza breakfast is awesome. Sea Brunch is also fabulous IMHO.

If you want to try the Skyride it’s less busy immediately after boarding and right when they open it each day.

Download the free Carnival Hub App before boarding, it’s really helpful!

Enjoy your cruise!  Horizon is a beauty, as are most ships.

Sort of a must do...Learn how to use the elevators.  When calling for an elevator, you tell the pad which deck you want to go to.  It will tell you which elevator to get on.  For however many people are with you, you have to do it that many times.  That way, the elevator knows how many people are going to be in it.  If you only do it once, then four or five get in, and other decks do it too, the elevator now is full and half of you can't get in.
