Ocean Ready Questions/Answers

Could be because you're done with Ocean Ready and he's already Ready (by you on your phone).  Did you scan both passports and add your photos and avatar's?  If so, i'm pretty sure you are both through with Ocean Ready.

Yes I finished everything on my phone.  Doesn't her have to have Ocean Ready though on his phone to be able to do things on the ship?

There are separate apps for use on the ship:  Ocean Compass, Ocean Now and Ocean Casino - install those now and finish setup once on the ship.  Ocean Concierge is the ship website for Patters, Internet, etc (like Princess@Sea)

Don't know. But, if there is not enough time to ship (arrive 2 weeks prior to cruise), they won't ship it. Even if they do, and you miss it, you can get a "replacement" when embarking. There is no private information on the medallion (other than your name, ship, and sailing date), and the old one is deactivated when the new one is enabled.

Astro Flyer how were you able to do this...I cant find the spot online to get the pass let alone to print it...my phone is a smaller screen so my screen shot option only has the QR code with no name or sailing info or I can get the top of the pass but no QR code....not sure which is more important to them....

Thanks for the info.  I wondered if they'd have replacements.  I actually called Princess and was told I could request picking it up on the OceanReady app.  Originally I was concerned because the app wanted me to indicate a shipping address and defaulted to my home address.  If I clicked on that, it wanted me to verify that's where I wanted the medallions sent and to submit it for mailing.  When I tried the app again, I clicked the "add  a new address" instead of my home address.  This time it gave me the option to have it delivered at the port.  Hope this helps someone else.  It definitely wasn't very clear.

Neither the OR app nor Ocean.com is accepting my November booking number yet so I cannot reconfirm the procedure.

 

Four months ago from the Ocean.com website there was an option to print a boarding pass.  We were on B2B 7-day cruises which were combined into a single 14 day boarding pass.  On the OR app despite saying to print a boarding pass there was no option to print it & had a screenshots of the QR code & another of my information.

 

Being on a B2B we also printed the Cruise Personalizer’s boarding passes for both cruises in case there was an issue with each of us carrying on two 750ml bottles of wine without any fee.

Great thanks.  While the app and ocean.com accepted our 11/2/19 sailing I didn't think that while it is ready to view that perhaps the printing option wont show up till the normal 75 days out like on the personalizer you cant print luggage tags or boarding pass until then.  So hopefully once that mark hits maybe the ocean.com will have a print button for me.  I can be a klutz sometimes and really don't want to have my phone out while trying to lug the carry-on, check in and take our pic...also fear I may set it down and forget it...no big whoop if I misplace the papers but if I lost my phone..eeks! I will check back in and see if the .com version allows printing at the 75 day mark and report back.

You’re further along than me for my 11/3/19 cruise which doesn’t recognize my reservation.  I might have to eventually call their Navigators section to fix this problem closer to sailing.

 

So far my OR app/Ocean.com experience for our next cruise is worse than it was for our April cruise. 😳

Oh no that sucks!  Our only experience with the medallion was last year on the CB...we did a b2b and on the 2nd week we were given medallions...only opened the door..could not use it to enter and exit ship or buy anything.

 

I believe I wasn’t able to get the app to accept my reservation until I saw it say get ocean ready in the personalizer.

Generally 30-40 days before your cruise is when its added to Ocean Ready. Can be earlier so you can start watching @ final payment date. You are supposed to get an email when your cruise is added and others have said they saw a note on their personalizer.

will not recognize cruise dates until 30-40 days before the cruise. you are supposed to get an email when loaded. passengers are also reporting that they have seen a notice in their personalizer.

from what I've read, there is a "screen" similar to an airline e-boarding ticket that you show at the port.

For closure on this, once final payment was made, the Cruise Personalizer bubble turned green.

The OceanReady app won't let me add my zip code, and therefore won't save any of my address information. I've uninstalled and re-installed a couple of times and keep having the same problem. Anyone else have this issue and/or know how to fix it?

It actually let me order the Medallions at 90 days out.

For those who have already been on a Medallion cruise and are needing to get Ocean Ready for another Medallion cruise, I have great news. I just got Ocean Ready for my next Medallion cruise. So very, very, very much easier than the first time around! It still had all my information in there, including my passport info, profile picture, security picture, and address. All I had to do was add in my booking number, confirm I wanted to use the same passport, and confirm my shipping address. That was it. Super duper easy.

Had everything done and have a screen shot of our valid ocean ready passes and medallions ordered. Just checked ocean ready app today on a whim to find the infamous orange exclamation point in the travel documents circle.  Ocean ready pass now shows incomplete. No explanation of the issue and all seems fine.  39 days out. We will see if the medallions show up.

Not cruising until November, but thought I'd get a sneak peek of the apps.  Was able to login to OceanReady and was able to link my upcoming cruise.  Was also able to create a Tagalong in the PlayOcean app.  2 problems I've run into so far:

  • OceanNow is not showing my cruise countdown.  It actually worked the first time I tried it, but seems like after I linked the cruise in OceanReady it disappeared.  Tried linking to it in the app itself but alas, still no countdown.  Not a big deal, more of a curiosity. 
  • Can't install OceanCompass on my phone (android.)  It downloads, then gives an error:  "Can't install OceanCompass, try again and if it still doesn't work..."  Tried what was suggested and more (clearing various caches, rebooting, etc etc etc) to no avail - can instal other apps still, just not this one.  Installs on my tablet and my wife's phone (same model as mine.)

Anyhow was wondering if others had similar issues and how they resolved them.  I have plenty of time to figure it out or give them a call but thought I'd throw it out here first.

We did a medallion cruise on the Regal Princess in February.  At that time I had some problems getting the Ocean Ready app to work.  Finally with some guidance from the Ocean Ready navigator on the phone, I was able to get that done; the medallions were shipped and we received them about two weeks before our cruise.

 

Now we have another medallion cruise coming in October.  I was easily able to add the booking number more than a month ago, but was unable to complete the Ocean Ready app.  I made final payment a week before it was due, but still the app did not complete even though I had been able to delete the old passports and add our new ones.  I finally went back to the Princess web site and looked at all the info in the personalizer for this cruise.  I had failed to complete the section for onboard charges.  Once I added the appropriate information, the Ocean Ready app quickly update as complete.  We have ordered our medallion and have received an e-mail confirming the order and advising that we will be notified when shipped.  My mistake was assuming I had completed all the personalizer information while I had left out on little bit of info.
